It's going to be an exciting day with the 'Meet and Greet', 'The Gauntlet' and the 'Circle of Doom' prepared for tomorrow's competition day.

16.01.2022 Congratulations The second school in Australia has had a successful launch of The Amazing Shake. Bargara State School students competed in Rounds 1 (Meet and Greet), 2 (The Gauntlet) and 3 (The Circle of Doom) on Wednesday. On Thursday morning the top 10 were debating with councilors at the Bundaberg Regional Council. More to follow.....

03.01.2022 Today was Round 4 of Burnett Heads State School's 'The Amazing Shake' and our top 12 visited the Bundaberg Regional Council. We are very grateful for the hospitality provided to our students by the Mayor, councilors, and staff during our time in the Council Chambers. Five council staff judged our competitors during this round and their scores were collated to provide us with our five for the next round. Congratulations to our TOP 5, Ivy, Emma, Tahlia, Ronon and Jack! They will be visiting a 'SECRET' location for Round 5 on Friday morning...... and then it will be down to 2 for the final round on Friday night.

What benefits can you identify for the students that participate in this event? * Confidence enhanced and skills learned will be useful throughout life. * Students displayed confidence, manners, respect for others, resilience, social etiquette, personal appearance, public speaking, and preparedness. * Courage, resilience, and ability to hold a conversation and learning importance of greeting... * Many. one can see the enthusiasm and confidence-building for students. Great training for dealing with and overcoming high-pressure interpersonal situations. * Increase in interpersonal skills ie conversation and interactions. These valuable skills are increasingly rare, due to technological advances, hence the need for such events. * Improved to self-confidence, conversational skills, working under pressure . I’m sure this will be very beneficial to students in all facets of their life. A fantastic initiative! * Adapting to varied situations. Learning to be polite, shake hands properly and eye contact. Great, this will enhance life-long learning. See more
