09.01.2022 GHOSTING. We’re all guilty of doing it. But let’s remember how impactful it is. When you ask a small business owner for information (a quote, an estimate, a proposal), it is often presented to you with hours work put into it. When you then ignore that person because you’ve changed your mind - IT’S NOT OK TO GHOST THEM. We all change our mind - that’s human. But email them back with something as simple as: Thanks for this information, but I’ve changed my mind. ... I have lost count at the amount of times I have been ‘ghosted’ after staying up late (or passing up important time with my family) to get information to a potential client, only to be ghosted. Don’t leave people hanging wondering what they’ve done wrong and doubting themselves. Their time is just as valuable as yours. Don’t be a dick. Be a decent person. Don’t ghost.
