24.01.2022 The countdown is on until the final season of Game of Thrones. Get your mead ready for drinking, and may your favorite character not be killed off!

21.01.2022 A great day trip down to Sydney to see how local terroir and master technique makes incredible brews. Thanks for the inspiration Wildflower Brewing & Blending

19.01.2022 Mead fact: every glass of mead requires a bee to visit over 200 000 flowers!! We're often asked where our honey comes from. Our mead proudly supports local beekeepers, with all our honey coming from 100% Australian bee hives. An interesting fact is that the honey you buy at the shops (even Australian honey) is from the European honey bee, introduced to Australia nearly 200 years ago! Australia has over 1700 species of native bees, but none that produce large quantities of honey.

18.01.2022 A shout out to our favorite Australian native bee, the Blue Banded Bee. These bees live alone (solitary), a good place to try spot them at home is on your lavender plant. Also a hot tip for anyone that grows tomatoes, these guys are 'buzz pollinators' and are your tomato plants best friend!

15.01.2022 Our love of mead stems from how versatile honey is. Look at all the different styles of mead and which countries they originated in! We're still confirming the lineup of our initial launch, which style of mead would you love to try?

15.01.2022 It's time to dust off my judging pins and get ready for the Australian Amateur Brewing Championship down in Sydney tomorrow, best of luck to all the entrants!

13.01.2022 For anyone in the Newcastle/Hunter region, come along to this free presentation to learn more about our beautiful native bees and how to encourage them to visit your garden!

12.01.2022 Bochet is a delicious caramelized honey mead, with its recipe dating back hundreds of years! The original Bochet recipe came from Le Ménagier de Paris, a French guide book from 1393 on a woman's 'proper etiquette'. Who knew the French enjoyed a good mead or two!

09.01.2022 A great night tasting local NSW gin with Husk Distillers at FogHorn Brewhouse

09.01.2022 This guy is playing with fire! The giant space ants will be on our trail for sure now they know we have honey..

06.01.2022 Do you know where the term 'honeymoon' comes from? In ancient times following a wedding, the bride and groom were provided with enough mead (honey wine) to toast each other for one month (the cycle of the moon) after their wedding!! Two years ago today Sarah our Queen Bee, and Dan our Head Brewer tied the knot! We didn't drink mead for a month, but we did brew amazing mead as wedding favors! Here's to many more mead filled years to come!

05.01.2022 As someone who catches the bus each day, I'd love to share my bus stop with honey and native bees!

04.01.2022 Amber Barrel Meadery are so grateful for all the support we've received! However a common response has been 'That's great, but what's mead?' It's time for some mead-ucation! Mead is the most ancient known alcoholic beverage. Starting with honey, we then dilute it with water and ferment to perfection. Mead can also be flavored with fruit, herbs or spices to craft a drink for any taste!... A mead can be: - From 4% to 16% alcohol - Bubbly and carbonated, or flat/still - Devilishly sweet similar to a dessert wine, or dry like a white wine Honey is such a versatile base to work from, that's why we just love mead!

01.01.2022 Cheers to the one, the only Hamish Lucas for the catchup , mead chat and mead drinking!

01.01.2022 I wonder if we can build a fermentation tank out of Lego
