24.01.2022 TOODYAY IN SPRING! Toodyay won’t be the ‘best kept secret’ for long! After the successful Toodyay in Winter video, the Toodyay Chamber of Commerce & Indust...ry (TCCI) has now finalised the Toodyay in Spring video. This is the second in a series of four videos planned. A seriously huge thanks and appreciation to those who contributed to the ‘Spring’ video: Gold Sponsors - Country Realty & Toodyay Op Shop, and Silver Sponsors - @New Way Home Sales, Toodyay Community Bank Branch and Northam Customer Service Centre, LJ Hooker Toodyay & Christmas 360 Without your generous support the TCCI would not have been able to undertake and fund this project. Thanks also to other who contributed, in particular TCCI member Helen Shanks of Destination Toodyay who has provided in-kind support to coordinate the project, and SkyWorks WA for their amazing film work over the past several weeks. As with the Winter video (see here: https://vimeo.com/281922349 ) this Spring video will not only showcase and promote Toodyay but is expected to attract visitors to our town and support business growth. ENJOY! #Spring #Toodyay. #AvonValley #ShireOfToodyay. #JustAnotherDayInWA

22.01.2022 Hi to all of our Facebook followers. I thought I would like to share with you our world of animals. I have been called crazy chook lady, crazy cat lady and I admit to all of the above. Our animals are very important to us and we can learn so much, experience joy and sorrow and this is what I want to share with you. I may not post every day or every week but things happen all the time here with our animals. The joy of seeing lambs born, incubating chickens and ducks and watchi...ng them grow and become friendly, the sorrow of waiting eleven and a half months for a baby alpaca to be born and see it die after a day. I would like everyone to learn with us the experience of caring for our animal friends. Over time you will learn the names and enjoy the antics that our furry friends get up to. Please feel free to interact with us through this journey. Watch this space. See more

22.01.2022 How exciting. Our alpaca Harmony is due to have a little baby next week. Wonder if it's going to be a boy or girl. Watch this space.

21.01.2022 So exciting, we have a baby peacock. Mum and dad peacocks well and very attentive.

18.01.2022 Harmony has had another baby boy!!! Brown like Dad, Humphrey and Harriet. Wonder if we will ever get a black baby like Mum Harmony. I am trying to play with him every day but he is still a little stand offish. Humphrey is very protective of his little brother and Harriet has rediscovered her inner child. Dad Aubun is winking at Mum already uh oh. Ok so we need to find a boy name starting with H for the little one. Any ideas? Tanya

18.01.2022 Well the peacocks are driving me mad! Snow one of our female peahens is bringing her family, Husband Blue, teenage boy and 3 babies down to our house. They leave poops all over the verandah just before our B and B guests are arriving. I have to quickly wash it all off. They are so inquisitive they try and get into the house via the cat door. God forbid I leave a door open. I have had a house full of peacocks one day! Even to the point when I got woken up to this almighty screeching peacock call. I had inadvertently locked 2 in the entry over night. They perched upstairs on the balustrade for the night. Fortunately the mess was not too bad. So my days are filled with chasing the peacocks away. Then to add insult to injury they get mad at me and leave the biggest calling cards on my car bonnet! Life on the farm continues Tx

18.01.2022 TOODYAY IN SUMMER! How magical is Toodyay in Summer! Click on photo below to view the video... After the successful Toodyay in Winter & Toodyay in Sprin...g video’s - the Toodyay Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI) has now finalised the Toodyay in Summer promotional video. This is the third in a series of four videos. We are already underway with early filming for Toodyay in Autumnwhich will have a focus on small food producers and ‘our community’. A seriously huge thanks and appreciation to those who contributed $$ to the ‘Summer’ video: The incredibly generous Toodyay Op Shop, the very supportive and super friendly MAKIT Toodyay Hardware and Farm, the amazingly supportive Bendigo Bank Toodyay Community Bank Branch and Northam Customer Service Centre and the wonderful new shop in town Avon Valley Gifts (you can check out AVG in the Old Fire Station). Without their generous support the TCCI would not have been able to undertake and fund this project. Thanks also to others who contributed, in particular TCCI member Helen Shanks of Destination Toodyay who coordinates the seasonal video project and SkyWorks WA for their stunning film work on these videos over the past several months (and their generous discount to the TCCI). 17.01.2022 Goose stories continued. The SEVEN boys have taken it upon themselves to be the keepers of the baby ducks. Whenever I have grown baby ducks in my incubator the geese have stood guard over them. Always at least 2 stand guard. They even hiss at me! Stay away from our ducks. Mind you they don't give a rats about any baby chickens. They determine where and when the baby ducks can go. At 6 weeks I take the ducks for a swim in the pond, the geese aren't happy but on the second day they relent. They continue looking after their charges for about 4 months. It is actually heart warming to see the paternal instinct coming out. Goose stories to be continued

17.01.2022 So devastated. Our little kangaroo Charlie has decided he is old enough to leave home. Didn't even leave a note, just left. I think I saw him in our paddock with another little kangaroo the other night. I whistled and called his name and the little fatty one popped up his head, so I think that was Charlie. Our little monster with a tail is spreading his wings. I just hope he will come home and visit one day.

14.01.2022 Have I got a goose story to tell. Background! Years ago I answered an ad for a couple of female and male geese. Picked up no worries. Few chickens chucked in for good measure, Mrs Palmer our bantam hen is still going strong after nearly 7 years. Well the geese. Had some friends up and after a few drinks we decided after googling how to sex your geese we would tip them upside down and check! Press just above their vent and their sex should be revealed. So 2 had the wings 1 had the snappy end and the others looked for the vent. Found their bottom hole no vent! Hmmmm didn't work still no idea. In a more sober moment found out their vent was one and the same as the bottom hole. So poor unfortunate geese were upturned again only to reveal ALL boys. A little wiggly thing popped out! Goose stories to be continued

14.01.2022 We have found a name for the baby alpaca. Her name is HARRIET. Thanks to all the people that suggested names. Harriet is growing fast, already running around at top speed.

12.01.2022 Exciting news! We have opened our B and B for business. We had a great start to our opening weekend. Please have a look at our website for information about our beautiful rooms. Photos to follow. Yay!

09.01.2022 Hans and I would like to wish our friends and wonderful guests a very Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. Hope to see you all soon Tanya

08.01.2022 Yay. Harmony had a little baby girl this morning. All is well. We need names starting with H, any ideas? Photos soon

06.01.2022 Oh no my favourite pet ram Dipstick passed away. Dippy will always be remembered for his huge horns, his funny tail that looks like it was dipped in white paint and his love of bowling over people. RIP Dippy

05.01.2022 Our Summer special is back. From January to March pay for one night and get the second night FREE! ( public holidays excluded) Some of our frequent flyer guests are booking in early so don't miss out.

04.01.2022 Harmony and Harriet have been let out into the main paddock with Auburn the dad and Humphrey the one year old. Apart from dad being very keen to get acquainted with Harmony again, Harriet has found a shaggy playmate in her older brother. She is like the annoying little sister, play with me, play with me. It is so delightful to watch.
