01.01.2022 TUESDAY 24/3/20: SUPER IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE Heres a summary of what was announced tonight by the Prime Minister, following the National Cabinet m...eeting. I have combined it into a complete list with the measures announced last Sunday night (22/3). Please share this post to help get accurate information out to those who need to have it. STAYING AT HOME: Recommend stay at home other than for necessary activities; Recommend work from home if possible but there isnt an offical ban on working from an office; CLOSURES/BANNED: Registered and licensed pubs and clubs (not the accommodation areas); Licensed premises in hotels and pubs; entertainment venues and cinemas, casinos and nightclubs; restaurants and cafes are restricted to takeaway only; Off-licensed places such as bottle shops are exempt from above restrictions; Food courts in shopping centres are restricted to takeaway only; indoor sporting venues and gyms; Swimming pools; Yoga studios and Barre studios; Beauticians, nail salons, tattoo parlours, tanning salons, waxing salons, massage studios (physiotherapists are exempt from this restriction); Outdoor and indoor markets religious gatherings, places of worship; Real Estate open-house inspections and auctions; All other businesses can remain open including shopping centres and their shops that are not those listed above e.g. general retail shops. However they need to have clear signage about the customer limits in store; Hairdressers and Barbers can trade if they manage social distancing, limit the number of clients in the venue to one person/4m square and have 30 minute appointment only; Amusement parks, arcades (eg gaming), indoor and outdoor play centres; Gallaries, museums, libraries, historic sites/venues, community halls; OTHER FITNESS Boot camps and personal training can still go ahead outside, and adhere to social distancing; EVENTS Weddings - limited to 5 people (bride, groom, celebrant, 2 x witnesses); Funerals - 10 people maximum, observe social distancing; BBQs, family/friends gatherings in the home and outdoors TRAVEL Overseas travel banned except for aid workers and compassionate travel; Recommend against all non-essential travel in Australia. Many states are closing their borders to non-residents of that state, unless it is for essential travel reasons e.g. for work, compassionate reasons and essential deliveries. Some are putting in place quarantine measures from Tuesday where you will have to remain at the border for 14 days to self-isolate. (e.g. WA, SA.) It is recommended to cancel school holiday trips interstate. SCHOOLS Schools will officially remain open for those who want/need to send their children. In-school learning remains an option for parents. NSW parents are encouraged to keep their kids at home; The Prime Minister will meet tomorrow (Wednesday 25/3/20) with teachers unions about keeping schools open and protecting teachers and staff; Schools will also seek to provide distance learning but it will take some time. Schools will be open after the school holidays, subject to ongoing health advice. HOLIDAYS No trips interstate trips. IGA (Young): They are enforcing social distancing and have hygiene and cleaning regimes in place for surfaces, trolleys, baskets etc Continues to offer home deliveries Are open 7am-8pm Mon-Sat & 8am-7pm Sunday. Staff are working hard to help people, especially the elderly who are most of their clients and to keep stock on the shelves. Some limits remain on particular goods to minimise stockpiling. COLES/WOOLIES: They have increased resources for home care packages like meals on wheels. Deliveries are now able to happen 24 hours/day. Now marked areas that indicate how far away you should stand from the next person to enforce 4 metres square people.
