22.01.2022 Having a noise exposure level allocated to every building supports property searches and valuations. For example, I think it would be handy to specify a noise exposure level when searching for a property. Including noise exposure and the impact on property value will also help fine tune Automated Valuation Models (AVMs). This short video outlines how our data supports Property Valuations, Forecasts and Searching by Noise Exposure. For those who have seen our other videos, jum...p to 1:40 as the opening covers similar background information. https://lnkd.in/gjwUE2J See more

19.01.2022 For rental properties, vacancy = no income, which of course is obvious. However our 2019 study with support from State Machine and CoreLogic found the rental turnover for noisier properties was 69% higher compare to equivalent, quieter accommodation. For tenants who do underestimate the impact higher traffic noise (e.g. above 55 dBA Lnight) has on them, this means moving twice and a difficult time in between. For the properties owners, this means repeated listings, and a drop in income while the property is vacant.

15.01.2022 Following on from our planning overlay posts earlier in the week, Here is a pre-processed a QDC MP4.4 noise category overlay for the local road network throughout SE Queensland. The model considers all roads, from motorways to cul-de-sacs, terrain, buildings and noise barriers, and the categories extend to 1km. The layers spans from NSW to Noosa, Moreton Island to Millmerran, covering an area in excess of 43,000 km and almost 5 million people.

05.01.2022 For anyone who has moved in, or bought a property, only to realise that 15 minute Saturday walk around did not highlight the night time freight trains, or the peak hour traffic, or that with a different wind you’re under a flight path, Ambient are rolling out property reports to review before you leave for that first inspection. https://youtu.be/tVtO7dqawbo
