25.01.2022 Lovely article about Low Head. So much history and a wonderful place to visit.

24.01.2022 Up bright and early again (don’t my traveling companions know this is a HOLIDAY?) as we’re booked to do a tour of Woolnorth and after a quick detour to Montague Campground and boat ramp for future reference, we arrived at the pick-up point for Woolnorth Tours. The tour was fascinating and the only way to venture into this private location at the very NW tip of Tasmania which encompasses Cape Grim with the cleanest air in the world, a visit to Tasmania's first large scale Win...d Farm, Australia's largest dairy, thousands of years of indigenous history and buildings dating back to the 1830's. We visited Arthur River this time last year but happily took the drive again to witness the beautiful scenery along the coast and The Edge of the World with spectacular views out to the Southern Ocean. Being mid-afternoon we next took a leisurely drive back to Tall Timbers to settle in for a relaxing evening once again. See you on the next post. #makeyourselfathome See more

23.01.2022 Watching the baby ducklings take a bath, and this review just in. Nice start to the day.. "Spacious, Comfy & Self Contained. Complementary Breakfast. Vineyard Views. We stayed 4 nights at Amble'a'While on Tamar and were not disappointed. The accommodation was immaculate with generous breakfast provisions. The view of the Tamar River was beautiful and the hosts Allana and Iain were very hospitable and gave us some lovely suggestions of things to see and do in the ar...ea. Would definitely recommend!" Date of arrival - 31 December 2020

21.01.2022 With thanks to Tamar Valley Wine here’s the latest on which vineyards are open and when. As things are always changing, it’d be best to check ahead just to be sure

19.01.2022 Don’t you hate when you arrive at your accommodation only to find the local Restaurant you’d planned on having Dinner/Tea at is closed or fully booked? Fear not, we’ve got you covered thanks to Eaz-E Mealz who supply us with delicious pre-cooked meals ready for you to heat & eat in your apartment. Let us know ahead of time, preferably when booking, and we’ll have your meal(s) in the fridge waiting for you to heat & eat. Or maybe take pot luck, as we often have a few options in our freezer. If you’re in luck, we usually have a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers in our stash you can purchase as well.

18.01.2022 Our nightly rate includes a generous selection of breakfast supplies so you can enjoy a ‘Self-Catered’ Continental breakfast each morning at a time just right for you. It has everything you could possibly want really. Fresh bread, milk, fruit juice, yoghurt, fruit, porridge & cereals, butter, spreads, tea and coffee. Recent guests from Burnie just posted this lovely review on Booking.com; "Delightful and warm stay. Thank you very much! Breakfast was included and there was plenty of it. The owners contacted us before to find out if we had any dietary requirements. I thought that was very nice. It was very private and quiet. Lovely linen and enough fluffy towels. Friendly hosts. Thoughtful touches made it feel very welcoming. We were very happy with everything."

17.01.2022 With our borders still closed it’s lovely to see so many Tasmanians out exploring our great state. And we love that many are choosing to stay here with us for a day or three. Last month we tangled up with our neighbors and spent a couple of weeks out and about in the North West, West and Central Highlands. We thought we’d share some pics and insights of our little jaunt. Perhaps some inspiration for your future travels. We headed off bright and early with the sun just beginni...ng to make its presence known. Last week of July so a certain nip in the air. First stop PenguinMarket (known locally as The Penguin Undercover Market) for a not so quick look around, breakfast and coffee. A few assorted items we didn’t know we needed found their way into the back of the ute too. Then onwards to Rocky Cape with sweeping views out over Bass Strait and in the distant west The Nut at Stanley. A refreshment stop at ROCKY CAPE TAVERN resulted in sore necks all round from studying the LP covers lining the ceiling and walls then on to Smithton (did I hear people saying Mifton?) for a wander around and some supplies before checking in at Tall Timbers Tasmania for our two night stay. Nice accommodation with a welcoming party of resident ducks, a good bar and restaurant so we settled in for the evening. Google maps tells us it’s 2 hours 30 minutes back to Amble’a’While on Tamar, but somehow it’s taken us about 9 Tune in tomorrow, if you like, for more. #makeyourselfathome See more

17.01.2022 There really is so much to see and do (and eat and drink) in our little patch of Tasmania, the Tamar Valley. Come on, stay here a while, visit the locals and perhaps indulge in a tour.

17.01.2022 With so many exceptional reviews, we know our guests love the comfort and facilities on offer. Our resident Cackle-Chicks also enjoy exceptional accommodation in their custom built Cackle-Shack. They mostly have free run of the property, so the new sign on the driveway is a gentle reminder to drive slowly and keep an eye out for our chickens and any wildlife that decide to drop in for a visit.

17.01.2022 A leisurely 50 minute drive takes us to Narawntapu National Park and Bakers Beach. It lies on Tasmania's north coast, adjoining Bass Strait. A perfect place to enjoy a picnic on a nice day. You’ll need a Parks Pass, which can be purchased at the visitor centre there if you don’t already have one.

17.01.2022 Are you celebrating something special, or maybe just wanting a lazy night/day in? We can help you do it in style with a gourmet platter of local produce for 2, and a bottle of delicious wine thanks to our friends at Loira Vines. Order and pay in advance when booking and we’ll take care of the rest so it’s all there for you on arrival.

16.01.2022 It’s a beautiful morning to take a stroll on our property which overlooks the Ninth Island vineyard and takes in this gorgeous view of the Tamar. The Starlings are more interested in the Mulberry Tree though, check them out lining up on the power lines ready to swoop in for a feed https://www.tamaraccommodation.com.au/

14.01.2022 It was a beautiful spring sunny day yesterday so we took a leisurely drive to Evandale Sunday Market for a wander around in the sunshine soaking up the sights, sounds and smells. There is always something yummy on offer for a light breakfast snack whilst looking for that little (or sometimes not so little) item we didn’t know we needed to take home. Heading home around midday we decided to pop in to Tamar Valley Wine Centre which we’d been meaning to do since they opened. Suc...h a great space, with great food on offer and a fantastic selection of all the local wines and beers. We enjoyed a light lunch, deciding to leave a little room just in case The last time I visited Stoney Rise Wine Company would have been late February or early March when I hosted a tour for Tamar Valley Wine Tours and the tasting room and cellar door were at the rear of the family home. Their much anticipated new purpose built cellar door opened six or so weeks ago so I was keen to re-visit, so Allana and I took a little detour on the way home. Of course it would have been rude not to enjoy a glass of No Clothes | No SO2 Pinot Noir, and we couldn’t resist sharing a post lunch snack of those sardines. A lovely place to relax and soak in views of the Tamar River over the property and only 15 minutes drive from us. #makeyourselfathome See more

14.01.2022 Things that go BUMP in the night. Well not bump so much as the squeal of a chair being dragged over to the cupboard, followed by that strange sound of a broken lock bouncing on the tiles and the BANG the cupboard door makes when slammed shut so that they’ll never know we peeked into the cupboard. Allana’s jams are really yummy, this is a fact. Seeing extra linen could be really exciting and may indeed be the highlight of your holiday. But if you really, really want to look in the cupboards just ask. I’d rather spend a few minutes opening them up to show you rather than heading into the hardware shop and spending my morning fixing locks. And for those that need help understanding, we just made a little sign .. just for you!

14.01.2022 We did last Sunday and enjoyed a delicious and informative tasting. Highly recommend, and only 5 minutes from here

13.01.2022 We really do love where we live, and look forward to welcoming guests. Here's a great article showcasing our area. Go on, make yourself at home, book direct with us and enjoy the Tamar Valley.

12.01.2022 A beautiful capture. We love our view too

10.01.2022 We really do appreciate it when guests take the time to thank us, and write us a great review. 2020 was, well interesting to say the least. We did our best to be available, accommodating and offer all our guests the very best experience we were able to. So receiving this rating via Booking.com means a lot to us. Thank You. #TravellerReviewAwards2021 https://www.tamaraccommodation.com.au/

10.01.2022 This looks delicious

10.01.2022 The next couple of days sees us (you guess) up and about early for full days of exploration. Granville Harbour and Trial Harbour were both stunning, and after visiting The Spray Tunnel at the old Spray Mine site at Zeehan we spent hours in the West Coast Heritage Centre, Zeehan and feel we only scratched the surface so will be back. We also checked out Stitt Falls near Roseberry, Macintosh Dam, Lake Plimsoll and many other waterways which make up part of the vast Hydro syste...m. It is mind boggling thinking about how these dams and infrastructure, even the roads were constructed without all the modern equipment. All too soon, Part 1 of our little jaunt came to an end as we headed back to Amble’a’While on Tamar for a couple of days to attend to a few commitments, one being Iain hosting a Wine Tour for Tamar Valley Wine Tours, the first since mid-March when covid changed life as we knew it. We'll post Part 2 of our little jaunt soon, maybe tomorrow, maybe another day so keep your eyes peeled #makeyourselfathome See more

10.01.2022 We're really spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing what to do nearby. This post from Tamar Valley Wine Tours says it all. Stunning scenery, great cafe's and cellar doors, lovely people and perhaps indulge yourself on a wine tour with pick-up and drop off from your accommodation. Book direct and help support local businesses.

09.01.2022 Cabbage Tree Hill Wines is lovely cellar door to visit whilst staying with us. Take a leisurely drive to Beaconsfield or as the post suggests, pair up with Tamar Valley Wine Tours and do it in style with pick-up and drop off from your accommodation.

08.01.2022 Perhaps they read the 'NO VACANCY' sign and decided to head further along the road. A reminder to all, please keep your eyes out for wildlife, they really do not understand the road rules

08.01.2022 So many of our favourites in this post. Why not visit and try for yourself?

07.01.2022 Exciting news Team Timbre are back to feed our guests, and us too of course (purely for research purposes ).

03.01.2022 We just love reviews like this, posted on google recently. "We would highly recommend this accommodation. Everything you need and more is provided in a most thoughtful manner. The setting is delightful and the hosts friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay again in the future and hopefully for a longer period." Deb and Ivor Craft. Oh, we think the ducks like it here too https://www.tamaraccommodation.com.au/

03.01.2022 Allana and I did this tour September 2019. It was wonderful. A lovely property, interesting history, delicious wine and a picturesque 30 minute drive from here. So much to do nearby. #makeyourselfathome

01.01.2022 Friendly hosts, friendly chooks, and a happy guest. Sounds like a win all-round to us. This review just in from a recent 'cycling around' guest: A Great Place to Stay on the Tamar A had a fabulous night at this property - very friendly hosts, well-appointed accommodation, excellent location and even a vegetable patch with friendly chooks. I was cycling, so best of all was a washing machine to give my gear the once over!

01.01.2022 You guessed it, up bright and early yet again as we’ve got a fair day ahead. We headed off towards Corrina with several stops along the way as we snaked through the Tarkine Drive before hitting the Western Explorer Highway which was about 110k of unsealed but mostly well maintained road. Scenery was diverse today with us in Rainforest, long stretches of dry dusty road that would have you thinking you were in central Victoria and back to rainforest again. At Corinna we had a w...ander around and visited the Hotel before taking the Fatman Barge across The Pieman River. We then drove across the Reece Dam to Tullah for our stay at Tullah Lakeside Lodge. We’ve stayed here before so were looking forward to a comfy room with lovely views over the lake and of course a good bar and food. I’m told we’re up and about early again tomorrow so tune in and see what my intrepid travel guides have in store for us. #makeyourselfathome See more

01.01.2022 All the more important as we ease our way through the current situation.
