19.01.2022 A message from our vaccinating pharmacists Lochie and Sarah This years winter is not ordinary, with concerns relating to COVID-19 being added to the normal cold and flu season. But while we wait patiently for a corona virus vaccine, thankfully there are vaccines in place to prevent you from the common flu. We hope you have been keeping well during this difficult time. At the time of your vaccination, we may have informed you that Influenza cases in Queensland peak during w...inter each year, with the season occurring between May and October. The timing of influenza vaccination aims to achieve the highest level of protection during the peak of the influenza season. Vaccinating from late April or early in May provides protection before the peak season takes place. While protection is generally expected to last for the whole season, the best protection against influenza occurs within the first 4 months following vaccination. There are indications that cold and flu type symptoms are on the increase since the social distancing laws have been relaxed. This may lead to a late start for the regular flu season and it may extend later into the year than normal. Re-vaccination late in the same year for individuals who have already received a vaccination is not routinely recommended, although not contraindicated. We believe that re-vaccination should be considered for those who were vaccinated in early 2020 and have risk factors. And while there are currently no vaccines that protect against COVID 19, the influenza vaccine can reduce the severity and spread of influenza, which may make a person more susceptible to other respiratory illnesses like corona virus. We currently have supplies of Influenza vaccine available to provide for revaccination and recommend that you consider having this done during August or September to ensure you are covered in the event of a late surge in Influenza this year. Walk-in flu shot appointments are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.

19.01.2022 We have plenty of 2020 stock still available and are able to vaccinate from 10 years and above without a prescription! Come see us in store from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and get your flu shot before this winter arrives!

17.01.2022 Our final nurse immunisation clinic of the year is tomorrow morning and we only have 6 appointments left! This is the perfect opportunity for those under 10 years of age who are still requiring their vaccine for the Flu before the weather gets much colder! If the free time slots arent suitable there is no need to worry - we will still be running our walk-in vaccination service for those aged 10 years and above with no appointment needed from 9am-4pm with one of our trained pharmacists.

15.01.2022 From 8 am this morning (Monday August 31st), the Western Downs region has been upgraded to a moderate COVID-19 community transmission risk. We are following all health advice to ensure we remain open and safe for our customers. We would like to remind the community that if you have symptoms of COVID-19 you should be immediately self-isolating and awaiting a COVID-19 test and not presenting in person to the pharmacy. If you require anything from our store please dont hesitate to call us on 4662 2777 and we can arrange delivery. Thank you everyone for sticking together in these trying times.

13.01.2022 As the COVID-19 pandemic escalates in Australia it is important that we are all acting with the whole communitys best interest in mind. You may have noticed that we now have some borders on our floors indicating a 1.5 meter safe social distancing area from all our benches. We please ask that, to ensure both the health of our customers and staff, that everyone remains behind the lines unless indicated by staff. We have also spaced out our back counter to avoid unnecessary red...uction of social distancing protocols while serving. We have also made marks for a 1.5 meter distance as a guide when queuing while waiting to be served. We have implemented procedures in store to reduce the risk of possible transmission - with staff ensuring that our benches and staff hands are sterilised at regular intervals to reduce the chance of transmission. We do need your help with this task - we would like to please reiterate that if you are feeling unwell with possible flu-like symptoms please follow the current protocols and stay home. We have delivery services available and are willing to help in any way we can in these trying times. We also ask that wherever possible that contact-less methods of payment are used - with cash payments kept to a minimum. We understand that this is a busy time and we are striving to provide the best possible service in the safest possible environment. Please be patient in these busy times as we continue to offer our services.
