23.01.2022 In partnership with various City Councils, our Community Connectors Program has reached participants in regional Victoria, from Warrnambool to Little Hampton. Pre-Covid, one of our participants used to perform the Japanese harp for nursing homes, hospitals and churches. When she lost access to an audience, Hepburn City Council referred her to our Art and Craft Café, where every senior is welcomed to share their artistic skills. She has since become an integral part of the Art and Craft Café and has also performed in our online gardening sessions. #music #art #craft #cafe #CALD #seniors #communityconnectors #HepburnShireCityCouncil #AMCS #DPC #MCV

09.01.2022 It’s easy to forget to donate all year around and not only in times of crises. The Royal Australian Mint has released a new $1 coin design: the Donation Dollar. The green and gold ripple at the centre represents the ongoing impact every donation makes to those in need. If you would like to give at your next visit, we have a Donation Dollar jar at reception. #DonationDollar #charity #community #support #RoyalAustralianMint #AMCS

01.01.2022 Nelzita ‘Zita’ Nascimento was born in a poor rural town in Northeast Brazil. Growing up, she made dolls out of corncobs and her mother sewed clothes from picked cotton. When she was eight-years-old, her father died, and her mother had to give away Zita and her five siblings to different families. She worked at the family’s farm to pay for food, accommodation, clothes and an education. Her upbringing gave her a deep connection to nature. When not spending time with family, she... happily takes care of her plants and views her garden as her ‘place-identity’.
