20.01.2022 The importance of backing up as much as you can. And if this is a reminder to all to back up now - Great! On Saturday my laptop decided not to start. I've only had it 17 months. I have an external drive where I back up my data, but... ...due to illness, operation and recovery it wasn't up to date. I had also intended backing up offsite and each time I talked to my computer guy I'd find I hadn't asked for the link to the site he recommends to his clients.... I took it back to where I bought it as it's under warranty and supplied my external hard drive so they could transfer the data. I spent all day yesterday in a panic because when I talked to them - all they found was the downloads and dropbox. Imagine the ill feeling knowing you have a couple of months of work, a years worth of photos, not there! Thankfully they kept looking and found everything under OneDrive (the laptop automatically syncs) but it wasn't in the OneDrive online but in a directory still to be synced. This I knew as I still have my 8 yo Toshiba so I can still work and could check OneDrive from it. Yes the first thing I'm doing today is signing up to CrashPlanPro.com Happy Christmas all!!!

11.01.2022 During these unsettled times, when we all have to stay safe and sensible, working from home is becoming the norm, unless in an essential service where you can't. As a Virtual Assistant there are a number of FB groups to help us not feel alone. Other industries have FB groups to connect. This will be even more important now while the office interaction is on hold. Stay safe everyone and if you need any help make sure you reach out to someone - on the phone, online or at a safe distance!
