10.01.2022 It’s really time we gave this guy a SHOUTOUT! Our sous-chef, Benson has been with us for the past 5 years. That’s 36 in dog years and a whopping 123 years by hospitality time! And for each and every one of those years, he’s rolled into work with a level of positivity that raises the whole team up. Legend. ... Now we could tell you about the 16 years of experience this man has in fine dining, BUT we’d rather share with you some of his pearls of wisdom that we got from recently picking his brain. We asked what 4 ingredients every kitchen must have. His answer? Just as classic as the man himself: Salt, pepper, oil and garlic. What he wished people knew about cooking?: fat = flavour (Don’t tell the calorie counters!) When asked why he chooses to work at the Yank? ‘Coz I f***k’n love it.’ Specifically, he said the staff were great. (No We didn’t just add that in to make it more PG) All that aside. We really appreciate this bloke’s presence in our kitchen and his ability to help lead the team.
