23.01.2022 Here’s a little sliding lid box. I haven’t done a sliding lid box since high school. Made from cedar that has been sitting in my Dads shed for over 30 years. My Dad is good friends with Mick Kruger of Kruger Sawmills, they used to be at Riverview back in the day. Dad used to collect the bits they chopped off the ends of boards to test dry in the kilns. 22.01.2022 Van Reno 2.0 I thought I’d show a bit of the process on this one. As usual I just got stuck in and forgot to take photos. At this stage we’ve insulated the wall panels with earth wool, built and installed the boxes over the wheel arches that will later become the bench seats. Installed the ceiling bows, and stuck foil board to the ceiling of the van, we later added some closed cell foam to try and cool this hot box down a bit. Floor under lay and Jute floor matting is in and edging installed. I’ve cut a lot of things in my life, but Jute takes the cake, this stiff is diabolical!! 15.01.2022 We have been commissioned to make some shop display stands for local tool maker and sewing extraordinaire Kirrilee Jenkins aka Deadly Mojo Sewing. This is where it all starts, breaking down rough lumber into dressed pieces. I tried to do a voice over explaining what’s going on but failed. If you know how to add a voice over on iMovie, I’d really appreciate your help. Stay tuned, there is more to come.

11.01.2022 Facebook keeps nagging me to make a post, so I made 2 This tree was pushed over to make way for a friends new home. We cut these two 300x300 gate posts out of it. Lots of cutting, lost of sawdust, loads of fun.

11.01.2022 The next step in production for these Deadly Mojo Sewing display stands is to route the slots that will house the tools. Multiple setups are needed to create these.

08.01.2022 Here she is, done and dusted. After lots of rubbing with steel wool, about 7 coats of shellac, and a final buffing with bees wax polish, I think it came up a treat.

03.01.2022 Here's one from the archives. A little red cedar and jacaranda step stool I made for our daughter. Wedged through tenons, finished with beeswax and shellac. The grain in the cedar is something special.
