25.01.2022 Tasmanians, we are resilient. There will be good days and bad days but don’t be disheartened. We have a plan and we will get our wonderful state back.

25.01.2022 A Statement from Dr Pitt... Dear Patients It appears the Corona Virus is here to stay for sometime yet.... For your safety, I believe we must introduce an appointment system so that social distancing, safety measures etc can be fulfilled. This transition commences now. Please phone the clinic on 6272 8869 during office hours to make an appointment. I apologise for any inconvenience this may bring in the short term. Urgent problems on the day will obviously be dealt with as usual. Regards Dr Greg Pitt

22.01.2022 2020 FLU VACCINES We have had a lot of people asking about flu vaccinations. Flu vaccinations are expected to be available by the end of April (based on previous years), however as yet we have not been given an exact timeframe from public health. We will update as more information is available.

22.01.2022 Together we can do this! ISOLATE the virus by offering Tasmanians medi-hotel isolation while theyre infectious with COVID-19; CONTAIN the virus with rigorous infection control hygiene by offering medi-hotel accommodation to prevent household viral contamination while patients are infectious;... CRUSH the epidemic curve at the earliest stage to prevent exponential viral spread; SAVE lives by preventing health system overload and save the economy by preventing the need for protracted and extreme whole of population lockdowns. #isolatecontaincrushsave

18.01.2022 In the ever evolving situation regarding COVID-19 our practice has decided to take the following measures to ensure the health and safety of our Doctors, staff members and patients. Any person who has travelled from overseas within the last 14 days is not to enter the clinic unless it is an emergency. They are to return to their homes to complete government mandated self-isolation for 14 days post arrival in Australia. If you fit into this category, please contact the clini...c for alternative consultation arrangements to be made. There will be a red line at the desk and around designated isolation areas. Patients are asked not to cross these lines unless requested by clinic staff. Our clinic will not be accepting new patients for the time being. Patients with severe cold/flu symptoms will be given a mask to and asked to wait in their car until their appointment. Once their appointment time arrives they will be contacted by practice staff and seen by their doctor under our isolation protocols. If patients do not have a car to return to they will be asked to wait in the designated isolation area. We will be requesting that patients only attend appointments with one support person any additional people will be asked to wait in the car or outside the clinic. In the coming days we will begin to offer telehealth appointments to patients who are in quarantine or are at highest risk of severe outcomes if they contract COVID-19. The patients eligible for these consultations are dictated by the government and this can not be offered to everyone. These steps are being put in place to protect everyone, in particular the vulnerable in our community.

06.01.2022 GOVERNMENT FUNDED FLU VACCINES ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE! These will arrive mid to late April. Pharmacies and some medical practices have purchased private stock (which they charge a fee for), however these vaccines are not as effective as some of those available through the government funded programs for FREE. ... If you are eligible for a government flu vaccination be patient and wait for the government stock to arrive. This stock is controlled and supplies by the department of health and is out of our control. We are currently discussing and planning the safest and most efficient way of providing patients with these vaccines. If you are not eligible for a government funded vaccination you may contact your doctor for a private script or make an appointment with a pharmacy for your flu shot. We understand that patients are anxious. We are doing the best we can under the current circumstances and appreciate your understanding and support.
