15.01.2022 Thank you to every Melburnian who endured the 112 day lock down to protect our country from the spread of Covid-19. Our collective agreement to sacrifice our freedoms helped us achieve this seemingly impossible feat: 0 new cases! While we celebrate this achievement, we also acknowledge that so many people are suffering terribly from the social, emotional and economic burden of this pandemic. Globally we are facing a humanitarian crisis. The battle is far from over. We need to reclaim our lives but stay prepared for a rocky and unpredictable road ahead. Let’s buy local, donate, volunteer, dream up random acts of kindness, and support each other in every way we can!

11.01.2022 Do you often find yourself overthinking? Repetitive thinking, or rumination, happens to most people when they face a complex problem or stressful situation. Practicing being more connected to the present moment is a great way to reduce rumination. Next time you find yourself ruminating, stop, take a step back, and observe... Involve all your senses, noticing what you see, hear, feel, smell or taste, as best you can. The more aware you are of what you’re doing and connected to your body, the less likely you’ll get caught up in repetitive thinking. To find out more about how to manage rumination, see our blog post here: https://www.amindfulway.com.au/are-you-stuck/

10.01.2022 It’s World Mental Health Day 2020 and Mental Health Australia is asking us all to make a promise to look after our mental health. I promise to practice mindfulness meditation every day (for any length of time). What is your mental health promise?

07.01.2022 Our breathing can be a great way to bring our attention back to the present moment. We encourage you to practice mindful breaths daily - five mindful breaths morning and night. Pay attention to the sensations of the breath flowing in and out of the body, where do you feel it? Do you notice the cool air going in through your nostrils? Or maybe you feel your belly rise and fall with your breath? Try five mindful breaths some time today! Beautiful artwork by @morganharpernichols

01.01.2022 It was a pleasure presenting to the NBN co. team today on the science of sleep and its benefits for health, performance and resilience. Always keen to spread the word on the benefits of mindfulness and CBTi for better sleep.
