24.01.2022 Today has been a great day for our little village. Mr Bojangles is officially the handsomest boy in Australia .. like we didn't all know that anyway And just look who joined in the celebrations ... We think a corner has been turned. Still a long way to go .. but a smile we know you have all waited for. Mr Charlie Brown is officially in town ... Watch that crown Mr B Xxx

24.01.2022 Hi! Im Arlo the Amazing At barely 6 months old, I have settled in to a life of domestic bliss quite well here in Wooloowin! Foster Mumma collected me and my sister only a couple of weeks ago. ... In that time, I have tasted most of her plants and found my favourites Ive fallen in love with scritchy scratches under the chin and have been learning to play fetch! Im not too sure if Im doing it right, but Foster Mumma loves watching me carry my toys around and tells me Im a funny boy. I am friendly with other kitties, and love all sorts of people especially if they like to play fetch... well, my version anyway! Would you have a spare cat tower lying around that is in need of an adorable ginger like myself? Adoption fee: $185 Arlo is desexed, microchipped and current with his vaccinations, worming and flea treatment BIN0000238803153

23.01.2022 Seriously .. Charlie Brown .. could the camera love you any more ? Turning into quite the poser this one. The power of love and belief

22.01.2022 Danny Boy Update As you are aware our gentle giant has suffered more than most with his Desex surgery. To see him so flat and in so much pain was absolutely heartbreaking .. especially as we promised him only kindness and happy days.... Our amazing village came together as always and today he is looking so much better. No infection confirmed .. extra painkillers... Some magic healing cream .. a reinforced cone .. and some yummy little dog food in gravy ( by the box full) .. not to mention a wave of love from you all. Particular thanks to his amazing foster Mum Joanne .. and his extra special buddy Janelle. It's takes a village xx

22.01.2022 Hi new family I'm Bobbie! Just a sweet little tabby girl and only 7 months old. I have no idea how I ended up in a rural pound, but am now living with the bestest foster carer in Reedy Creek who thinks I'm wonderful. ... I love to be picked up and given cuddles but love also to have sneaky play time. I get on with my 2 dog friends but don't know about how I would be with another cat friend. Looking forward to meeting you Adoption fee: $180 Bobbie is desexed and microchipped, and is current with her vaccinations, worming and flea treatment

21.01.2022 A note from Foster Momma Danny Boy is on the mend, and when I say on the mend, he is almost a new boy today. On Sunday he was a bit off, but by late evening it was obvious something was wrong.... He just couldnt settle, he was in pain, he was swollen and sore so I called on the "Cavalry". By 11 pm he was starting to settle, a good dose of pain relief, magic creams and a truckload of kisses, and cuddles did the trick. Three days later he is feeling just great. Sometimes it really is one step forward and two steps back. Very few fosters are easy, most of them come because someone did not want them anymore. They may have been abandoned, damaged or broken and they were pretty much worthless to their owners. Rarely do they come in empty, most of them have a little hope left in their tank, a little strength left to keep on going, just some flicker .... but not Danny Boy. He was an empty shell. No spark, no smile, no contact, I have my book of spells for "the broken", for "the scared" and for "the damaged" but when I looked at my spell book for "empty", that page was blank. What a to do What do we do ? We start from scratch and make a new potion. We take patience and love, gentle strokes and whispers, a quiet place, a friendly dog, good people to visit and lean on, a sprinkle of time .. and chicken .. lots of chicken. That face knows he is a good boy, that he is worthy and he is wanted. Not quite so empty now are you Danny Boy ? If you would like to join our amazing foster team and make a difference to dog like Danny, please send us a message Disclaimer no real magic spells or potions are used on our dogs just saying !

21.01.2022 Gentleman Jim Update Tissues Ready Regular Followers This was our introduction to this beautiful boy just a few months ago.... Why ? Why did you leave an old boy on a heavy chain outside a shop and walk away ? Why did you not at least try and get the grass seeds out of his weeping eyes ? Why did you not feed him ? What did he do that was so wrong ? Why ? Sometimes looking for answers makes it hurt even more. So we look forward And day after heartbreaking day you willed Jim and his wonderful foster momma on to a tomorrow he deserved. Yesterday we received this update Dear Rescue Frens, Thank you so much for helping me find my family. They needed me very much. Mom was very snuggle deprived and my sister, Luna, needed someone to help her investigate the yard smells and patrol for birds. Since rescuing my people, I have learned how to sit, lay down, stay, high five, and go to my bed. I always get tucked in really good at bedtime and I always make sure mom knows where I am first thing in the morning. Dad goes to work every day and I like to wait by the front door until Luna brings me toys to wrestle over. Sometimes I go to my mom's virtual class and all of her students think I'm the best. The dogtor says I am a healthy weight, but I'm still getting little training treats and learning to like carrots. He even says I might be 3 or 4 years old! Last month,I met some kids and I LOVED them so much!! Because of you, my family is whole. I will never have to sleep outside ever again (unless it's a nap in the sunshine). I am safe and warm and I always will be. Thank you. With warm, slobbery kisses, Pete (AKA, Gentleman Jim) We are not ugly crying . No not us Pete AKA Gentleman Jim here today because his hero Kylie said yes to fostering that day. And because his wonderful forever family chose to adopt not shop.

21.01.2022 Tears Just look .. Brady has had a spa day and now some new toys. Jason and Ali .. you are true true heroes.... Foster caring matters so so much

21.01.2022 My name's Leonard and I'm told I'm a rescue cat although I correct my butler daily that in fact I am actually a lion. See I was living in the wild and suddenly found myself in this weird hotel. Which was cool cause I get breakfast, second breakfast and dinner too. Plus there's a coomfy bed with a huge window so I can oversee my old outdoor kingdom here in Wynnum West. The butler then shaved off my beautiful floof (something about severe matting or rather) and don't even menti...on the tablets.. I do not like tablets. So I am a tad grumpy to say the least. Still, even lions let their minions worship them so I allow a good head rub or two cause that feels good. I like these dangly mouse things on string that the butler waves in front of me too. I don't know why she does it but they're fun to swat so... I can't let my guard down too quickly because a lion's got a reputation to keep. So I'm taking it slow. I am not impressed with other felines in the slightest, and tiny two-legged butler's really grind my vibe. I think I'm about ready to upgrade from this hotel room to a larger digs fit for a king. My ideal butler shall let me sleep all day, not have any other felines, go at my pace and have their world rotate around me. At a chipper 5 years of age, I've got plenty of slothing around to do yet. And did I mention I'm a long haired ginger lion? Adoption fee: $165 Leonard is microchipped and desexed, and is current with his vaccinations, worming and flea treatment BIN0000238803153

20.01.2022 Note from Foster Momma I got a kiss Just let me run that by myself again ... I GOT A KISS ON THE FACE A GREAT BIG SMACKEROONY RIGHT ON THE LIPS As it should be for a first kiss, there were no cameras, there are no pictures just pure joy and elation. Like in a romantic movie. I was chopping veggies for dinner. As always Danny Boy was interested in what was happening in the kitchen. I believe we should all challenge ourselves and try new things so I knelt down and offered him a small piece of broccoli. Broccoli is not his thing but apparently I AM. The broccoli was rejected but I was not. I got one (and only one) big sloppy kiss. I am clearly more attractive than I thought. I am infinitely more attractive than broccoli. I feel great. In fact, I feel fabulous. Oh Danny Boy .. we are moving mountains baby

15.01.2022 You OK there Buddy ? Our old soldier is really struggling .. but he has an army by his side

15.01.2022 He is safe tonight only because a carer said yes to a blurry pound picture. Welcome to our family little man. Foster care matters

14.01.2022 Today was the "cruel to be kind" day. Danny Boy is somewhat whoozy after losing his Christmas Baubles somewhere. But my word he is so handsome isn't he?

14.01.2022 Beautiful Tori is another queen who came from the pound pregnant and has been waiting for her babies to arrive at one of our fantastic carers birthing suites. Last night, foster carer Amy went out for dinner and came home to a proud Mumma and two beyond adorable babies. Sadly there was a third, cold and still wrapped in placenta. This is the heartbreaking side of caring for a pregnant Mumma kitty. Its not all fluffy kittens and smoochies. ... Its respectfully trying to take care of this last little soul, the one too precious for this world. Today we celebrate two new lives, while our beautiful Amy is taking a quiet, bittersweet moment for the third.

13.01.2022 After 2 days of feeling so sore and sad .. he is finally on the mend. Today Cheeky Chad stole Danny's blankie and we had a little game of chasey. Danny really doesn't know how to play .. so moments like this are so incredibly special. ... Those legs The part our resident animals play in rehabilitation cannot be underestimated

13.01.2022 And when you smile .. the whole world stops and stares for a while x Sweet Dreams Miss J Safe tonight only because her Foster Momma said Yes.... Miss J has a hero .. her name is Cassie x

12.01.2022 Poor, poor, poor Miss Willow... Miss Willow was a Gumtree giveaway who was brought to our attention by one of our beautiful foster carers. Her first year of life has been spent in a guinea pig cage, with limited human interaction. ... She hadnt been socialised or had much attention paid to her in this ever important formative 12 months of life. Any fast movements around her and she cowered down ready to defend herself. Something as small as a shirt being dropped on the floor had her curled up flat with her ears back. After 4 weeks in care, she is a changed girl. She has learned what love is, and she craves it. Miss Willow loves smooches and head bumps. Those itchy scritches behind the ears that she was so scared of in the early days? Well, now they have her flopping around for more She is still a timid, and sudden movements or loud noises can put her in to that fight or flight mode. We feel that with consistency and kindness she will keep moving forward to allow her inner lap cat to come out to her full potential. Could that be with you? Location: Carina Adoption fee: $180 Miss Willow is desexed and microchipped, and is current with her vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. BIN0000238803153

10.01.2022 Kingston and Gatsby Our little pair of Seniors are looking for a very special Golden Oldie loving home together. These two charming gentlemen were reluctantly surrendered together after a change in their owners circumstances.... They are both incredibly young at heart, super sweet natured and well behaved. Both close to 10 years old, Gatsby is an Australian Terrier x and Kingston a long-haired fox terrier x Gatsby is a confident, outgoing little man whilst Kingston is a little quieter and more reserved he has taken the change a little harder than Gatsby but with his brothers help he is finding his feet again. Kingston is scared of cats and big dogs .. Gatsby likes to chase birds in the garden .. so a cat .. big dog and bird free home is safest They have settled well in with their lovely foster family, but we really would like to find them their forever as soon as we can. Medically they are both well Gatsby does have a wobbly tooth we will arrange to have that attended to as soon as we can get him in with our dental vets. They both had full dental checks in the last year or so. We are looking for someone who will love and cherish them in the coming years there is lots of love and life left in these two little treasures. Both are des-exed, vaccinated to date, microchipped and flea and worm treated. They are in foster care at Nambour Heights and their joint adoption fee is $500. If you are interested in meeting Kingston and Gatsby please send us a message we do miss comments. 08.01.2022 Charlie Brown hopes you had a nice Monday. Foster momma told him not everybody gets to play in the ball pit, eat doggo icy poles and paddle in the shell pools on hot Mondays. Charlie Brown thinks that's a shame

08.01.2022 Hi! Im Indy the affectionate When I first came from the pound to my carer in West End, I was so very scared! My time in the pound left me pretty timid. ... Thankfully my foster angel gave me some space, and time to come out of my shell (and out from under the bed). Now, I am brave enough to show you how sweet I am - I will even run for smooches Age: 2yo Adoption fee: $185 Indy is desexed, microchipped and current with her vaccinations, worming and flea treatment BIN 0000238803153

08.01.2022 Fagan .. busted

08.01.2022 When we were first told about Siri being rescued from a rural pound we were told she was timid but sweet. That she just needed a little time to come around. She was a little tabby girl with a last minute hold put on her and was in need of a rescue and a carer. One of our angels put her hand up and brought Siri home. Timid was an understatement, this sweet girl wasnt backwards in coming forwards - and that included the claws... ... Her carer had an inkling Siri could be pregnant, with her constantly guarded stances and without being able to get close, we couldnt be sure. Siri has been kept in a luxurious enclosure with a heated nesting box to limit her domestic interactions that may cause her unnecessary stress. The plan was to bring her inside to have the babies closer to an estimated due date. Haha! Not often anything in rescue goes to plan! Last night Siri had 6 babies... her carer found the little family nestled in to the one dirt spot on the floor and has since brought them all inside. Mum in question is currently not impressed and in the middle of moving all babies to somewhere more befitting to her standard. In the true spirit of family photos, mums off dealing with one of the kids, but heres a sneak peek of the others

05.01.2022 Introducing Little Fagan Gorgeous Bull Arab x .. about 9 weeks old Lots of puppy energy, fun and games await a very lucky family for sure.... Fagan is a confident little man, loves company and is just super happy. A real entertainer, he is a smart boy who just loves to please. He will grow to be a big boy so will need a home where he will get plenty of attention and interaction and he ( as all pups) would really benefit from structured training. Toilet training is going really well, and he has beautiful basic manners already. Happily living in care with 3 other dogs ( large and small) he is super playful but also respectful. He knows boundaries but as with any cheeky pup he will see if he can push them a little on occasions. Fagan would really benefit from a home with a good-sized yard and a playful dog to wrestle and tumble with. He is also partial to a nap (as you will see from his pics) so a nice sofa and lots of cuddles are essential too. He has been vaccinated to date and is microchipped as well as flea and worm treated. His adoption fee in $595 and includes desex at our partner vets when he is old enough. Fagan is in foster care at Ridgewood on the Sunshine Coast. If you are interested in meeting Fagan, please send us a message we do miss comments. Please note We do expect a large number of enquiries for this baby and will only be forwarding the best matches to the carer for consideration for meets. PLEASE, please take the time to give us as much information as you can in your message about you and the lifestyle you could offer to Fagan. Only those selected for meets will be contacted and meets are strictly limited Thank you for understanding this. BIN0000238803153

05.01.2022 Banjo the Hound Dog is adoption ready Banjo is a delightful chap with a beautiful temperament. .. a real cheeky chappy with so much character. He just loves to go on family adventures to the beach, cafes and parks being part of his crew is really really important to this little man.... He insists on full on body cuddles, and following his human companions wherever they go, in fact he becomes quite upset when he can't join the family in all their daily activities. A busy home possibly with older kids and as little alone time as possible would be just awesome. Banjo is excellent with other dogs and would enjoy a household with a fellow doggo to play with. He has also become quite good friends with the resident cat but is not to be trusted with chooks. Banjo isn't quite house trained, but he responds well to training, and with love and patience his eagerness to please his family will assure he will be the perfect doggo for a family. He does require lots of exercise and stimulation, he is very clever, and somewhat stubborn and as all puppies do will create his own adventures if you are not attentive to his needs. Banjo is a medium size dog at 25kg and is expected to grow a little larger. He must have a home with at least 6ft secure fencing that he cannot dig under. It is suspected he is part beagle ( well a fair bit beagle so some hound experience would be perfect ) which makes him quite the escapee, which is of particular appeal to him when his family goes out without him. Still a baby at just 9 months old, he is desexed, microchipped and fully vaccinated to date. Banjos adoption fee is $475 and he is located in foster care at Golden Beach on the Sunshine Coast. If you are interested in meeting Banjo, please send us a message we do miss comments. Please note We do expect a large number of enquiries for this baby and will only be forwarding the best matches to the carer for consideration for meets. PLEASE, please take the time to give us as much information as you can in your message about you and the lifestyle you could offer to Banjo. Only those selected for meets will be contacted and due to COVID meets are limited Thank you for understanding this. BIN0000238803153

04.01.2022 3 nights of being held at 3am as he cries. No-one said this foster gig is easy .. but this gentlest of giants makes every second worthwhile. Danny Boy .. we love you so ...

03.01.2022 And it's Goodnight from Little Gatsby. A tiny senior with a twinkle in his eye. Be still our beating hearts

02.01.2022 This morning our resident Great White went to the vets and took one step closer to being adoption ready. Beautiful Midgenberry weighs in at a hefty 6kg, which for a young bloke of 2yo with his delicate frame, makes him, dare I say it? Obese... ... Today when he comes home, he will be 2 stones(or berries) lighter. We will work on his exercise regime once he’s all healed up.

02.01.2022 Just excuse us while we shed a tear or two. We did it ... Thank you each and everyone of you for supporting our boy.... This little rescue is forever humbled by your support for us and the precious souls we bring into our family. Today is such a special day .. not just for Mr Bojangles but for every rescue animal.

01.01.2022 Whats better than having one Burmese cat ruling your house? Why, that would be TWO Burmese cats ruling your house! Fairy Foster-Mumma Fran has learned this at her home in Margate as these two settle in to their temporary digs and prepare for adoption. ... Bobby and Brandy are two fantastic felines who were surrendered through no fault of their own. They are a bonded pair and as such are to go together. Bobby is the super smooch of the pair. At a sprightly 11 years young, he knows what side his bread is buttered on and loves hugs in ANY form Brandy is the more grounded of the two, at 8 years old shes not really a cuddler but I will follow you around the house and help you get dressed in the morning. Her favourite thing is to fall at your feet or sit beside you to get gentle tummy rubs and head rubs. Adoption fee: $500 for the pair BIN0000238803153 Bobby and Brandy are desexed, microchipped and current with their vaccinations, worming and flea treatment

01.01.2022 Oreo, Rose and Scarlett are brother and sisters who showed up suddenly, arranged like garden gnomes, in our foster carer's backyard in Taigum. They were born as strays in the wild and desperate for food, and were very fluffy, to try and stay warm during the winter cold they were living through. They were eating mice and things in an empty block of land opposite the carers place, that has overgrown grass. Our foster carer took them in and has looked after them for the last 2.5...Continue reading
