17.01.2022 "A significant change is the introduction of a new Appendix A exemption for procurements from SMEs valued up to $200,000. This means that relevant entities do not need to apply the rules in Division 2 of the CPRs in engaging SMEs (ie an Australian or New Zealand firm with fewer than 200 full-time equivalent employees) where the relevant procurement is valued at less than $200,000. This change is significant as it would allow, for example, relevant entities to conduct a limited tender in relation to such procurements."

We are saying this because it’s best to know these new laws right up front, especially if you are involved as a COMPANY DIRECTOR or someone who might be considering becoming a director over the coming years.... The new Director Identification Number (DIN) will enter into force on June 22, 2022. All Directors of companies will need to apply for and successfully obtain their own unique number, or DIN, as a form of identification and activity tracing. In summary, the new Part 9.1A of the Corporations Act, from the date of application, requires: existing directors must apply for a DIN within a prescribed period persons appointed as directors within 12 months of the application date to apply for a DIN within 28 days of their appointment; and persons appointed as directors after 12 months of the application date may apply for a DIN before being appointed director. If you fail to apply for and comply with these new DIN laws when they come into force, you might potentially face both civil and criminal penalties.
