21.01.2022 Hello everyone! Hope you’re all going well. Following Light up the Lane, which was a big success (thanks heaps to everyone who helped!), we have Party for Human Rights! Featuring local artists including Jed Appleton, The Reporters, Paywand & more, there will be food available for purchase, a silent skills auction and a few surprises! This Saturday, 7:30 11:30 at The Polish Club, 20 New Town Rd, $10/$5 full concession. If anyone would like to help out, we are after 4-6 vo...lunteers to be on the door & collecting donations. These volunteers will get free entry. We would also love some help with postering and event promo during the week. 13.01.2022 We've had an amazing win in 2017 in Australia with marriage equality, but there are still many places in the world where people are persecuted and killed for their sexuality. Amnesty Tasmania is holding a stall at Pride this Saturday the 13th January in support of LBGTIQ rights internationally. Comment below if you can make it along and help us call for justice for Xulhaz!

12.01.2022 Want to take a stand for Human Rights? Amnesty's BRAVE campaign is about protecting activists worldwide who are being harassed, jailed, tortured and killed for their work defending human rights. This Friday, Amnesty's BRAVE Volunteer Network are holding a stall at the Hobart Twilight Markets in support of Azza Soliman, a women's rights activist in Egypt who has been threatened with imprisonment for speaking out on gendered violence in her country, and Tashi Wangchuk - a Tibe...tan film-maker facing up to 15 years in prison in China for protecting Tibetan culture and language. Please RSVP "going" to this event if you can come along to the stall anytime from 4:15 pm and up to 7.30pm. New supporters are very welcome to attend! Food & drinks provided.

07.01.2022 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WORLD AIDS DAY with TASCAHRD! December 1st is World AIDS day. On the 30th of November in Hobart, and the 1st of December in Launceston and... Burnie, TasCAHRD and a team of volunteers will be on the streets for World AIDS Day. At this global event, we will be providing red ribbons to the public and raising funds for the Andrew Shaw Foundation. Would you like to join us? You will need to attend a short induction on Wednesday November 22. You will be put in a team, and be able to commit to at least 2 hours on Thursday November 30. Simply RSVP ‘WAD VOLUNTEER’ to [email protected] and we'll send you a follow-up reminder. Send your phone number too, in case we need to confirm your involvement by phone.
