25.01.2022 It's funny how there has been little media coverage about this.
23.01.2022 Update: AEC has said no. the present ... definition of elector would also seem to cover 16 or 17-year-olds who lodged a valid application to be on the roll before 24 August.
18.01.2022 Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. It's an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made to reduce violence, haras...sment, stigma and discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people. But the day also reminds us how much there is still to do. http://www.humanrights.gov.au//human-rights-lgbti-people-s #IDAHOT #IDAHOBIT
14.01.2022 White men in 4WDs chasing after our youth. It’s been happening for years. In the wake of Elijah Doughty’s death, vigilantism in Kalgoorlie is thriving. Content Warning: This story contains aggressive racial slurs.
04.01.2022 On the 20th of May MD Imran, a detainee on manus island, shared a gut wrenching account of his experiences to Facebook. Here's a very short excerpt : "we don't expect any hope from the Australian and PNG governments. It has always been felt that we would never leave this island alive and it has become apparent that the abuse and torture implemented by both countries is unending." Fast forward to now. This is THE LARGEST Human Rights settlement in Australian history. I have no words. Sometimes as an activist the fight for something as basic as Human Rights can seem overwhelming and never ending. Sometimes you feel as though you're shouting into an empty room. But, it's the small victories like this that inspire me to continue fighting for my beliefs, and it should inspire you too. Change begins with us.
