22.01.2022 Kangaroo Island update

21.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone that has donated goods to be sent to Kangaroo Island. Many people have asked me about donating money to help out. I DO NOT accept any money for anything, if people wish to donate there are a great number of charities that require funds. As such I will list some of charities that both help people and animals both here in SA and around Australia. If you know of any other please let me know and I will post their details here. South Australia Country... Fire Service (CFS Foundation) https://cfsfoundation.org.au/donate https://www.facebook.com/CFSFoundation/ Freedom Hill Sanctuary https://www.freedomhill.com.au/ Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-save-kangaroo-islands-koala Help the KI Dunnart https://www.gofundme.com/f/saving-the-kangaroo-island-dunna Adelaide Koala & Wildlife hospital http://www.akawhospital.org.au/make-a-donation.html Fauna Rescue SA https://www.faunarescue.org.au/donations/ You can also help by purchasing products from Kangaroo Island or purchasing wine from the Adelaide Hills region

21.01.2022 Thank you so much to Ryan from Ryan's Fruit & Veg https://www.facebook.com/ryanscheapandfresh/ for this amazing box of apples and melons that will go to help feed the animals at Fauna Rescue SA

19.01.2022 WOW what an awesome effort everyone. We had a long day yesterday collecting and sorting all the donations that came yesterday. It amazes me the generosity of the people when in times of need. Last day of collections today before delivery of all donations to Findon and Seaton Vet Centre who will deliver them to KI on Saturday. https://m.facebook.com/findon.vet.surgery/

19.01.2022 UPDATE: WOW: YOU ARE AMAZING!! This has been seen by more than 19 000 people and as I am not able to get back to you all, here are some answers to your FAQs * ... Wildlife Wednesday will be EVERY Wednesday 10 -6 until the need is met so there is no need to rush in tomorrow. * You don't need to tell me you are coming. * There are no classes, just people around who know what they are doing. * Grab materials and go OR stay and make in our workshop area - up to you (and subject to space) * We DO take donations of materials of all kinds. * Children are welcome but we DON'T have anything else for them to do and they will need to be supervised at all times. There is also limited space and the workshop area may not be the safest place for small humans. * We are NOT a drop off point for the end product. That is up to you to organise. * We are ONLY helping you make for @Animal Rescue Collective South Australia by providing the place, the materials, and the tools if you want to help but don't have the funds, tools or know how. It would be great if you came in already knowing what you wanted to make and have your own access to the patterns they want you to use. There is no rush on this project. Fire season has just begun and sadly our wildlife will be needing our help for many months to come. Cheers Sue xx Happy New Year everyone! Like everyone else, our plans for 2020 seem insignificant compared with the crisis our country is experiencing. I will leave our news for a later date. It is clear that the best thing people can do for both human and animal victims is to donate money. Unfortunately, that is the one thing I don't have! When I thought about the special species, animals, and bees relying on KI's unique bushland, it became obvious what I could do. The Adelaide Remakery will provide free materials (fabric + threads + yarn) for anyone wanting to make items needed by the Animal Rescue Collective South Australia ARC South Australia and we will accept donations of appropriate materials for this specific use. We declare Wednesdays to be Wildlife Wednesday at The Adelaide Remakery for as long as the Animal Rescue Collective South Australia ARC South Australia needs items to be made. On Wildlife Wednesday, you are welcome to come into our workshop space to make + to learn how to sew or knit or crochet + to use our tools, equipment and materials. See you soon! Sue xx

04.01.2022 Thank you soooooo much to everyone that has donated goods for the victims of the recent fires. It has been more than what I expected and have been overwhelmed by the amount of donations you have all given. I was able to send a lot of what was donated in the last week but unfortunately all of the groups heading to Kangaroo Island are full and are no longer accepting donations at this stage. I am trying to contact as many people as I can about getting goods to both Kangaroo Isl...and and to Lobethal/Cuddly Creek but at this stage it is unclear what is happening. Unfortunate I will no longer be able to accept any more donations until I am able to find alternative routes. If you wish to continue to donate you can take yur food supplies to - Foodbank or clothes can be donated to charities like - Australian Refugee Association Inc - Women's Community Centre http://www.wccsa.asn.au/ Thank you so much everyone for your generosity. I will keep everyone updated in regards to deliveries later.
