22.01.2022 This Promag20 is almost new (maybe 10 runs). Can come with a new standard 8106 box for $3500 or modified external coil box for $4000 (including the MSD 8142 coil).......mag, both boxes and coil for $4500. Currently CW rotation but ca be changed to CCW no charge.

22.01.2022 Many racers running a big 5" monster cap on their Promag 44's also have the adjustable base which allows precise setting of the rotor phasing to take into account various spark retard requirements. An adjustable base is now available for the 4" cap magnetos which is a godsend for PM 20 users. If you are using a timing retard on your PM20 with 4" cap you should consider this to set your rotor phasing to eliminate the chance of the spark jumping forward to the wrong terminal and potentially causing major engine damage. 20.01.2022 We had a great night out at Archerfield Speedway last night - cheering on our man Jason King in the Autobarn #69 Sprintcar. It's been quite a while since I attended a speedway event and have to say I was mighty impressed with the way the show flowed and the way ex-drag racer Jason is coming to terms with his awesome sprintcar. Well done buddy!!!

17.01.2022 Here is a neat magneto/pump combo about to go out for a customer with a blown BBC. The magneto is a fully rebuilt Supermag making 6.3 amps RMS (better than a Promag 12). The Enderle 110 pump has been flowed and both items mounted to a front drive provided by FIE. Contact AMPED Magnetos for similar installations.

15.01.2022 Over the past year I have been asked if I can upgrade the Promag 44 to deliver more amps on several occasions. The answer is yes I have the big 56 amp magnet wheels in stock. However, I always explain that experience has shown that the MSD points boxes will almost always expire in quick time if the magneto is set up to shove the full 56 amps through its circuitry. The only way to save the points box from premature death is to open up the clearances of the big magnet wheels ...so that the effective output of the magneto is 49 50 amps, and even then it is pushing the limits. The 56 amp magnet wheels are pretty expensive and a conversion runs about at about AUD $1500 for the upgrade. That’s a lot of dollars for a 10% increase in mag firepower that also puts the points box into a minefield. My advice is to spend less money on an FIE transformer that will produce the same 10% increase in spark energy WITHOUT overloading the points box. Practically and financially this is a better solution.

14.01.2022 "44 PLUS" transformers in stock. A direct replacement for the MSD 8142 door stop. The 44 PLUS will deliver 10% more spark energy to the plugs than the MSD coil - and it is servicable. Gary Phillips, Wayne Price and Zapp run with these coils because they deliver! We even have a billet bracket that mounts this coil to the old MSD coil mounts. Call 0470 332 777 to discuss.

12.01.2022 The Pro44 transformer is proving its credentials again. Here it is installed on two heavy hitting Pro Alcohol Funny Cars. Have a guess on which cars you'll find 'em?!!!!!!

12.01.2022 Another Promag44 heading West. This unit came in with a PM12 lower shaft installed and a large amount of radial and axial slop in the drive. Fixed that! Magnets re-clearanced, upper and lower housing re-anodised black, stator case polished, new bearings and hardware - rotor phased with new cap, base and wire retainer. Now for final load test - new sticker then ship it.

11.01.2022 HERE IT IS: After much development work, a new six cylinder magneto finally hits the market. The first six banger magneto to be released in decades. This version from FIE uses a modified Supermag housing and has internals pretty much fully developed from scratch. Extensive testing has been carried out in the USA and Australia to optimise performance. An initial limited run of just 10 magnetos will be available in Australia. Output is about 4 amps RMS to suit all six-banger engines up to blown alcohol for about $2166. Different outputs can be ordered as required. Advance weights are available for assisting hot-rod engine starting and lower drives to suit standard dizzy locations are also available.

09.01.2022 AMPED Magnetos will be shut down throughout the month of November. We'll be tearing back into it from the start of December - looking after all your magneto needs.

05.01.2022 The first couple of lower drives for the 6 banger magnetos is almost done. These are for the Holden straight 6 family of engines. They also fit some Chrysler 6's. Not long to wait now guys - they'll be out the door next week.

03.01.2022 Big kudos to Spud Miller at FIE. The new 6 cylinder Supermag is firing sparks and looking great on his test bench. APMED magnetos has been working with FIE to bring this 6 banger mag into reality and the first one should be in hand in a couple of weeks. It will make 3.5 amps(RMS) - enough to fire a mild blown alchy motor down the strip on Saturday but still be suitable for a Hot Rod run on Sunday. These will be available up to about 8 amps for very serious drag strip duty. Stand by for further details. Magnet wheel and stator for this first unit are shown below.
