We curate every box for every individual, and if there are special requests, they are all taken care of too. Last week we had a surprise with medium Truss Tomatoes, our divine Hand Cut String Beans, and Pink Lady Apples with a flavour like no other. 20.01.2022 Just a reminder to our lovely Ample Foodstore Customers ... business as usual this week for the delivering of your Organic Fruit & Veg Boxes, and pantry goods. We will however be asking you to get your orders and requests in asap, so our shut off for orders this week will be 12 noon on Tuesday. This allows us to get first dibs on the wonderful fresh produce that will be picked later in the week for us. We are still waiting on the supply of some items, this has held up delive...ring some orders containing flour, sugar etc ... hopefully we can do these deliveries on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience. We are also lucky to have great suppliers for our Organic Pantry goods, and as the world goes a bit crazy, they have asked us not to overorder and are restricting purchase of most goods. 16.01.2022 Ample Foodstore only does deliveries. We are not a retail outlet with stock sitting out day after day. We have specialised in this service since we were established nearly 5 years ago. Our produce is ordered, picked, stored in a coolroom, individually packed to our customers requirements, back into the coolroom, and then delivered within hours to the door (or office) of our customers.... Along with eggs and hundreds of organic pantry goods to choose from, we offer a service that always receives the kindest of compliments. Last week a family was let down by a business they found on facebook, so at the last minute we were able to put together this box (with nearly everything she wanted) and deliver - her smiling eyes told us there was a very big smile behind her mask :0). So whether you would like a mystery box of FRESH picked seasonal fruit and vegetables, that just happen to be organic and taste fantastic (no nasty chemicals), or tell us what you would like in your box (5 sizes), we are here to help the community, whenever there is a pandemic or not. 09.01.2022 Don't throw away those Beetroot Leaves!!!!! Tonight I washed about a dozen leaves, rolled them up together (like a cigar) and finely cut them into strips. Half were tossed through my salad, the other half went into a bolognaise sauce I've made for tomorrow night's dinner. These lovely leaves have great amounts of protein, zinc, phosphorus, they are loaded with fiber. They have rich amounts of magnesium, vitamin B6, copper, potassium, manganese with low content of cholesterol ...and fat. The Vitamin K found in Beet greens possess blood clotting properties, prevent osteoporosis, counteract Alzheimer’s disease and works with calcium for strengthening bones. Beet greens have high content of iron and high nutritional value.
