17.01.2022 At Substation33 we are refurbishing computers for school students who don’t have one, so they can be ready to study at home next term. We will set up the second...-hand PCs with easy-to-follow instructions to install them at home. If your child needs a computer to continue their schooling at home, call Substation33 on 3826 1533or email us at [email protected] The cost is $100 per refurbished computer, including a dongle that enables Wi-Fi access. The dongle means families can use their home internet plans or mobile phone hotspotting to get online access.

05.01.2022 What a great week supporting the design development prototyping and manufacture of these face shield utilizing acrylic sheet recovered as part of our eWaste rec...ycling activities. The face shield is made from 6mm acrylic laser cut and is designed to take a standard clear 250 micron A4 sheet. The sheet is connected to the acrylic using holes punched in the sheet. It takes 4 minutes to cut 1 shield, but with higher-powered lasers, it could be as little as 1 minute. This product has been optimised for manufacture and assembly using standard off the shelf parts. A huge thanks to Growing Queensland - Hackerspace Grant Program for the laser as part of 2018 Makerspace grant.
