20.01.2022 Railway bridge replacements can be a matter of hours if the operational constrains require it. In this instance, the bridge frame is constructed next to the live railway and moved into position during a shutdown usually between 48-72h depending on the size of the frame. The structure is then moved into position via hydraulic winches. These guys however do this every day of the week, hence they use a highly advanced, purpose build and modern crane truck.

03.01.2022 The likely contractor for the next stage of the tramline has been announced with John Holland named as the preferred builder of the $710 million project. Eight ...stations and 6.6 kilometres of track will be built from Broadbeach south to Burleigh Heads. Transport Minister Mark Bailey says the contract states the builder must work closely with local businesses to minimise disruption. "We also urge everybody to keep supporting their local businesses," he said. "It's going to be a little messy as construction zones inevitably are, that people keep supporting local business, we want them to get through this well." Heavy construction work is expected to begin by the end of the year.
