02.01.2022 Bridie Allan is a Marine Science lecturer and active researcher at the University of Otago in New Zealand University of Otago. Bridie’s research largely explores how anthropogenic driven environmental change can alter the mechanisms underlying population processes and how these changes scale to community dynamics. How climate change, oil pollution, habitat degradation, microplastic pollution and other human activities influence the behaviour and survival of fish is a key focu...s in Bridie’s work. Bridie’s main research programme is investigating the effects of chemicals that are associated with microplastics and the impact that ingestion of these chemicals has on the fitness of fishes. These are important topics that must be understood and discussed when developing a path forward to a more biodiverse future. We look forward to hearing all about Bridie’s research in July. #AMSA2020 #NZMSS2020 See more
