04.01.2022 Basketball Victoria COVID-19 Update - Monday 11 May The Victorian Government today announced some gradual easing of restrictions for Victorians that will come i...nto effect on Tuesday 12 May from 11:59pm. While basketball is a predominantly indoor sport, there are a number of ways that people can participate in basketball activities utilising community accessible outdoor courts and open spaces. Importantly, this must be done with a maximum of 10 people in any group activity, with no contact permitted, and applying social distancing and safe hygiene practices at all times. We appreciate the announcement doesn’t allow for the use of indoor venues, however, we will continue to work with government to institute the appropriate guidelines that will see a return to indoor basketball at some stage in the very near future. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to be active through basketball outside in a safe and respectful manner under strict compliance with the governments new restrictions. For further information on our COVID-19 updates for leagues and domestic basketball, visit the Basketball Victoria website - basketballvictoria.com.au/covid-19
