Influencer marketing is a powerful tool to increasing your reach, targeting your audience through influencer networks, and creating UGC (user generated content). It CAN also be affordable. If an influencer has approached you, ask yourself if it's because brands AREN'T approaching them... and WHY. . Here's what to look for when an Influencer approaches you asking for product in return for posts. ... . Their INTENTION. What is their intention and why have they approached you specifically? If it's just because they want free product, ditch the pitch. If they have purpose, continue reading. . WHAT are they offering you - be weary of the word "exposure". Influencer marketing is a great way of receiving a high ROI. Look for high engagement rates, over a large audience. You can ask the influencer for information on their engagement rate or calculate this yourself. . WHO makes up their audience? If the influencer is experienced with landing brand partnerships, they will be happy to tell you who makes up their following. Scope it out for yourself. Browse through a few photos to see if their likes are legitimate. . Are they the right influencer for you? Does your product or service align with their social media feed? Will it be too alien for their following, or will it be drowned out by the influencer constantly posting branded content? If you're not sure, ask the influencer what content ideas they have in mind. You can minimise your work by creating content in bulk and scheduling with intent. . But, be mindful that the algorithms do change and there are many contributing factors.
