24.01.2022 So sad! We should be right now between show 1 and 2 of Alice in Wonderland with another matinee tomorrow. We hope the audiences will be there for us next July when we have another go with JAM!!!!

24.01.2022 We’ve been down but not out! The last few months the team have been planning. We are currently working toward a concert of items from musicals at the end of the year ... #JAMpactMusicals! There’ll be plenty of high energy ensemble numbers and JAMmers have pitched their own items for inclusion. Yesterday we started auditioning these solos and duets. JAM is back!

22.01.2022 Dates for your diary! #JAMZooMusicals coming up 12th September and 19th September. These are concerts held via the ZOOM meeting platform. We are inviting AMTC fans to see some of our JAM talent. Both concerts will be at 2:30 pm and last around 1 hour. It’s gonna be amazing! We'll post the link to the meeting a day or so before. In the meantime, if you've never used zoom... look into it and have a practice with a friend. .

13.01.2022 This time 2 years ago AMTC was preparing to stage Mary Poppins. The spectacular book like set was opened by the creators Tiff Duncan and Peter Clark at the start of the show. Did you see one of the performances? Directors Ben May and Laura Turner, Choreography Meryl Dalton, Musical Directors Sandy Bascham, Simon Pavitt and Riley Gillen, Costumes Julia Armstrong and Rosie Lake, Producers Dennis Ross and Marie De la Torre.

11.01.2022 VALE CHRISTA LEAHMANN - A tribute written by Merrin Ross on behalf of AMTC We were truly saddened to hear of the death of a very dear compatriot, Christa Leahmann. Christa was a star of Opera and Musical Theatre in Australia before she settled in the Shoalhaven with her dear friend David Foley. Christa will be remembered by many AMTC members as a gifted and engaging performer on stage, a generous mentor to younger and older fellow performers, and a friend and advisor to mysel...f and other production team members. Christa delighted audiences in two huge AMTC productions at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre Showtime in 2011, and our mammoth celebration production of Fabulous and Forty in 2015. It was this performance of Fabulous and Forty that Christa declared to be her last, and we felt utterly privileged to be able to honour and farewell her by performing Prima Donna from Phantom of the Opera. Christa was not averse to helping our productions in any way possible, including agreeing to be a Pit Singer in the Wizard of Oz in 2014. Even this role was taken very seriously by her, and we will all remember Christa’s presence at rehearsals, studying her music quietly in the corner while other activities took place around her a true professional at all times. She was a wonderful role model to our less experienced cast members. It was a joy for me to work as Musical Director for these productions and share many beautiful musical moments with such an experienced performer as Christa. The photos attached are a mere glimpse of her mesmerising stage presence. Thank you for supporting us and sharing many performing delights with us Christa. RIP. Merrin Ross (AMTC former President)

06.01.2022 AMTC is excited to launch our next show! The Last Five Years will be performed in January at the Nowra School of Arts. Each performance will feature cabaret table seating - a special night out, with food, wine and the much-awaited return of live musical theatre in the Shoalhaven. The show season will feature a silent auction and raffles and AMTC are asking for donations of goods or services that could be auctioned off or raffled during the show run. 04.01.2022 In around 15 minutes we would have been opening the curtains for our premiere night of Annie. Unfortunately due to co-vid 19 this is not the case. But in true theatre style, the show must go on and we have continued to plan, stay connected and build sets for this show to be put on at a later date. To keep our theatre family connected our cast have had the opportunity to zoom with actors who were part of professional Annie productions, and gained much industry knowledge in the process. Thank you to the production team and cast for continuing to stay enthusiastic in these difficult times. I wish this message tonight was simply "Chookas"

04.01.2022 Congratulations to AMTC member Georgia Duncan who received the Entertainment Student of the Year Award as part of the Shoalhaven Excellence in Vocational Education and Training. Georgia has volunteered many hours for AMTC, both on and backstage and has a true appreciation for the work that goes into a production from all departments. We are lucky to have her as part of our company.

03.01.2022 Last weekend's container collection raised almost $100 from AMTC supporters. That will just about pay for half of the microphone batteries for a show season. So far this year "return and earn" has brought in $750 ... that amount would buy the 1000 batteries we use across all our shows in one year! Keep collecting please ... our next collection will be Sunday December 6th ... at the same location as our GARAGE SALE! More details coming

01.01.2022 Garage Sale. AMTC FUNDRAISER. At Our Shed in Bomaderry. First Saturday in December. 5/12/2020 9 am to 12 noon. How does it work ? We are after contributions from members to sell. Anything. Eg..give us your Spring Cleaning toss outs, stuff you’ve been meaning to get rid of etc. Some of the things we already have are books, videos, CDS, good quality clothes, furniture, plants, crockery/cutlery, tools old and new, pottery etc. BUT WE COULD USE MORE. If you have items to donate... for the garage sale can ring Ron on 0413044621 to org pick up or storage at the Shed or contact a committee member. Spread the news neighbours, friends, relativesthey may have items or wish to come along to get a Xmas bargain.and of course we’d love to see you there.
