20.01.2022 I shared this photo a couple of days ago and I received a few comments about the height of the nets. In fact, I often receive comments and questions about why I change the heights of the nets. The answer is quite simple, it makes it more fun. When coaching kids, especially beginners and young children, the focus has to be on fun. As a coach at the introductory level of any sport, the more fun they players have, the more likely they are to continue. ... Lowering the net makes it easier to hit the ball over, therefor creating success. Success is a key element of what kids require for an activity to be FUN. More SUCCESS = more FUN!!! More FUN means they want to come back and play more. Manipulate the environment to create FUN!

12.01.2022 I am often asked by parents What can I do to help my child get better? The answer is simple: Play with them! Go out and just engage with your child using sport as the activity. You don’t need the perfect equipment, or technique, or location. All your child wants is you and your attention. ... A lot of us get caught up wanting our children to replicate what we see them doing at training and ensuring all the money was are spending isn’t wasted, I am indifferent, so we coach them; repeating what we hear the coach say at training, try to replicate activities and drills, make them repeat it till the get it right. As parents we need to stop coaching and start playing. Training is where your child is introduced to different techniques, tactics, ideas and attitudes. Matches are where your child tries to implement what they learn at training when under pressure. Play is where the child gets to experiment, mess around, be silly and teach themselves. Of the three modes of development, TRAIN - MATCH - PLAY, Play is the most important. So, as a parent, make the game FUN and PLAY.
