13.01.2022 Lockdown Update We once again find ourselves facing lockdown in Victoria. Firstly, a reminder about illnesses. You must not send your child to kindergarten wit...h any COVID-19 symptoms, including but not limited to Loss or change in the sense of smell or taste Fever Chills or sweats Cough Sore throat Shortness of breath Runny or stuffy nose Headache Muscle soreness Nausea Vomiting Diarrhoea Sending your child to our service with these symptoms puts our children, educators, families and broader community at risk and is simply unacceptable. Children with symptoms must stay home from kindergarten in line with COVID-19 information from the Department of Education & Training. Our team of early childhood professionals is spending considerable time contacting the families of children who are too unwell to be at kindergarten or who are displaying COVID-19 symptoms to collect their child. This avoidable task takes us away from our primary role- educating your child. Families must ensure their children do not attend the service with any symptoms. As in previous lockdowns, our programs for kindergarten aged children (including before kindergarten and after kindergarten care) remain open to all children. We ask that you are mindful of stopping the spread and encourage you to let us know when you have made the decision that is right for you & your family. Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services must operate in line with schools. If your child is not eligible to attend school, they are not eligible to attend OSHC. Please contact our friends Avenel Primary School for more information. As a service, we are committed to working alongside our families to keep our children safe. We kindly ask that you remain outside the kindergarten door when dropping off or collecting your child- if an educator is not there to greet you, please call the kindergarten directly or ring the doorbell. Temperature checking will be in place as children enter the building and may occur periodically throughout the day. In addition, our educators will be wearing masks when not directly engaging with the children in line with instructions from the Department of Education and Training. As a service, we are committed to working alongside our families to keep our children safe.
