25.01.2022 One thing I've gained from this awful global pandemic is that I need to s l o w d o w n a notch. I've been making a real effort to take and enjoy my tea breaks and breathers. I'm also getting back on track doing the things I love -namely; tap dancing around the house, photography and making art (usually not at the same time). Here is a drawing I've been working on from a photo I took from when we were in Covid lock down here is WA. Now sit back and steep and enjoy you...r tea breaks! Love Amy xx

21.01.2022 When my big girl was a tiny baby my best friend gave me the best advice. She said that in a few months time, whenever you meet a fellow mum, despite every bone in your body telling you not to, you will find yourself dishing out all kinds of unsolicited parenting advice; The titles of books you've read, the sacred jig that gets your little one to sleep, the fail safe food your toddler always eats, how you do school drop offs without tears. You won't be able to help yourself, s...he said, and it's not because your being a dick. It's because being a mum is hard, it is fun, it is a new challenge everyday and when you actually nail it you will be so overwhelmingly proud -that you've managed to do this really hard thing, that you've managed to find a way to keep your tiny human nourished, loved, enriched and happy -you will want to share with everyone how you did it. I think that's good wisdom to impart. go ahead, be proud mumma's!! I can't wait to get back out in nature with you all real soon and a very happy (Aussie) mothers day to my lovely mum -oh and its my dads birthday too so a very Happy Birthday Daddy keep washing your hands Love, Amy xx

18.01.2022 I've got a little project on the go photographing handmade Jewels for Perth jeweller Curious Blu. Their Jewelery is so beautiful -and just gorgeous to photograph! One of their signature pieces is 'The Sphere Pendant'. This week I got to handle the bowl that inspired the piece. Now maybe its my museum background, but for me it was like meeting a celebrity -it seemed so special seeing the two objects together. 03.01.2022 Another non-photographic portrait from me today. I've been joining some online life drawing sessions, I love getting lost in drawing and find it almost medatative. I believe that our creative outputs are intertwined and related. It feels great to be drawing and I hope what I am discovering putting pen and pencil to paper has a knock on effect on my photography. I received my placement of 'Highly Commended' for my image 'What if our kids come out of this stronger' in the People category of the 2020 Mono Awards. Taken during WA's Covid 19 lockdown, my aim with this image is to portray the sheer power and strength of a child.
