16.01.2022 The Amy Gillett Bikeway is well loved and well used ... and it needs to be extended to Mount Pleasant. With some Federal support, we could set up this popular walking, cycling and riding track so it links in with the cycling experiences in other regions.

Works will commence this coming Monday 15 June, and are expected to be complete by Friday 19 June, weather permitting. Vegetation trimming will occur during the day alongside the following roads and a section of the Amy Gillet Bikeway. All roads will remain open during works, however speed and lane restrictions may apply. 08.01.2022 This is great news - The Adelaide Hills Council has identified an extension of the Amy Gillett Bikeway as a Priority Project to kickstart recovery in a communit...y still reeling from the Cuddlee Creek bushfires and now facing the devastating impact on tourism of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Council will be seeking a total of $9 million from Government for 3 components of the extension: Balhannah to Hahndorf, Mount Torrens to Birdwood, Birdwood to Mount Pleasant. These new sections of the rail trail are expected to form part of the proposed Wine Capital Cycle Trail spanning 250 kilometres and four world renowned South Australian wine regions" Hills Voice 9/4/20 Photo Credit: Barry Woodman
