25.01.2022 Not feeling the best today, dragged myself outta bed and worked with Chief. He's going really nicely. First time I've had him saddled, he's had an English saddle on before, this is his first time with a heavy western saddle with a back cinch, he didn't care he did walk, trot and canter both ways with no fuss

23.01.2022 Working with Caspar today, very impressed with this boy because he has a bit of a phobia about things flapping around on his back etc, put a handful of stones in each bag to make them rattle and he handled it like a pro

19.01.2022 This little cutie has just come in from the paddock ready for breaking in. Shaz is a 3yr old Aussie Pony Filly, she is a home bred pony from our stud. This was the first time she's been washed and rugged and took it all like a pro

14.01.2022 Desi today, first time being ridden out on the end of the lunge, first time actually having a rider have contact and actually do the steering and stopping. She was a good girl, a bit confused but tried her heart out. She's going nicely, so glad I put loads of groundwork into her, it pays off in the long run, she did play with the bit having contact but nothing sinister and stopped once she worked out what was going on. Thanks Adele for riding her as I can't because I'm too big and Tyron doesn't have the experience to be doing it on a young horse just yet.

13.01.2022 Carolinga Tequilla Sunrise aka Summa and her rider (my son) Zack. They paid their respects to both the Australian and New Zealand ANCACS today and too all the animals that served as well. Proud moment for me, not only did I breed this beautiful mare but have also done all her training with Zack by my side. Also very proud of Zack as he is the one who wanted to include the NZ flag as "they stood with us" in his words

11.01.2022 Long reining Chief today. My stuff up with the turn, I didn't give him enough room but he swung around well and just kept cruising on. Very proud of him, he's come a long very well in just the last couple of days.

11.01.2022 When you have a painted pony named Chief for breaking you gotta dress him western, yeah !! In all seriousness, after Chief is finished he's heading off to do mustering and barrel racing so I decided to retire the English wear and bring out the big guns (it's ok Chief I'm as much out of my comfort zone with this stuff as what you are, we're in this together hahahaha) he was a gem, so proud of him

11.01.2022 We've had a break through trotting much nicer and much more forward, still has high head carriage but I'm just concentrating on getting him to trot forward. Did about 8 full laps of trotting without stopping. He did trip once, I dropped the reins, he cantered about 5 strides and we went back to trotting around. And no he didn't try to run off when I dropped the reins, he just fell into a canter as he picked himself back up.

05.01.2022 Broke Caspar in 3yrs ago and he's been sitting in the paddock since. Threw the saddle on this morning and gave him a little lunge and he couldn't care less. Time to come back into work big fella and actually do something with your life mate.

04.01.2022 Long reining Chief today. Since mouthing him his mouth has become so so soft. Turns and stops with the slightest twitch of my fingers. So happy with this boy, he's coming along so well

03.01.2022 Lilly's lesson tonight. She only comes once a month and she is super well balanced and lovely soft hands turning in and out of cones like a pro. Little Charm is such a gem

03.01.2022 This wee little lass arrived yesterday for breaking and training. She's a little bit cute munching happily on some brekky this morning

02.01.2022 One of our homebred fillies is in for breaking. This is Shaz. First time with the roller and it's quite firm, she didn't seem to care, first time with the bridle, she had a good play with the bit. This girl has been sold and will be heading to her new home once broken in and going well.
