23.01.2022 Well everyone is talking about convid-19 and had a few questions of if ill be shutting down. Well this is where things stand. As some of u know normally my main work im a swimming instructor. This work has shut now down and therefor have alot of spare time on my hands now. So more importantly am i staying open? Yes i am. During this time it gives me the unique opportunity to catch up on my workload thats built up over the last 12 months due to unforseen personal circumstances... which im looking forward to doing :) my workshop now due to the covid situation will now offer contactless pick ups and drop offs should u require them. Hope this all helps and puts to side some of ur concerns. But on a lighter note. Fresh of the work bench 1 of 2 RX Class locos im working on. Both are numbered 207. One is a fully preserved Steam Ranger version which im still finalizing as its DCC Sound. And this one which is DC as it was in full service to customer specifications. Enjoy :)

20.01.2022 As you all know im not one for late night posts but right now i cant sleep as the smell off smoke is triggering my asthma a bit. Yes i do have a few grass fires near me but i am safe i know the MFS are working hard to put them out and im in far less danger than most. But to those that are under threat hope you all are well and got evactation plans prepared. I hope no one has lost their properties either. But most of all i know i have a few customers and followers that are in ...the SES, RFS, MFS and CFS from the bottom my heart and i believe i can speak for those you have saved and saving. We cant thank you guys enough for your tireless efforts and putting your lives on the line to protect us and our properties. You guys are nothing short of True Heros and once its all over i hope you guys are safe, unharmed and able to return to your own families. For those wondering how bad the Adelaide fires are ive included a photo i got from the 10 news page See more

20.01.2022 I know its a bit of a late night post but ive been up late doing the one thing i enjoy the most about this hobby building and painting locos :) Had a chat with a friend and customer today and there are a few of you that are disappoint i had to cancel and wonder whats going to happen with my layout now. Will it ever be shown etc. Dont worry im just as disapointed too. But these things happen and what happened was out of my controll unfortunately. So whats next? Well its very ...simple guys & girls repairs are already under away to my Quorn SA layout. So yes i do indeed intend to put it on show. Ive already been invited to 3 other shows already to put my layout on display. Whether i attend will depend on how everything goes as well as the repairs im taking the opportunity to as previously stated to do some upgrades to the layout id not considered before like lighting in extra places, small extension :) If you guys like now AMRE has been ill start releasing some photos of the layout if you all like. Just comment below if ud like that :) Anyhow hope your all having a safe weekend and will post again soon.

19.01.2022 Hope everyone is keeping cool in this stinking hot weather. I cant be in my shed today. Too hot even with its Air Con on. So im in my bedroom today doing programming. This one is fresh off the bench. Austrains Neo NR class N.o. 109. Whilst the factory lighting is nice it can be made alot better. Factory lights are set up so each physical function (4 of them) output powers a set which wastes functionality and it means ditch lights do not flash in a prototypical manner which is... a shame as these locos use 21pin decoders which means theyve got access to logic functions which wouldnt have taken much to do if they bothered to put the effort in. IMO that really lets the model down. ESU do a 21pin mtc board that turns logical to physical. So u go from 4 functions to 6 for $20 so its not that hard. Shame it doesnt fit into this loco. As per customer request i made this happen. I remove all factory dcc equipment and hard wire an ESU Sound chip in. In this case a 5.0. Then add the extra l.e.ds to make the ditch lights front and rear work prototypically. And this is the result. Enjoy. See more

17.01.2022 Fresh off the work bench. Ozrail 900 Class. When it come in it had seen better days. Loco shell has been repaired and repainted. The unreliable mech has been replaced too. The new mech is an Erie Built which both body and mech had to be milled in order to marry the two together. It will be coming back to the bench once i have the mould pieces of the fuel tank & side frames :) Enjoy John.

16.01.2022 Who remembers a little while ago i posted a few pictures of a little garage sale type store my Dad was trying to start up. Well he has progressed alot since then and now even has a name & facebook page. Its called Roxy's Model Railways. The name is a tribute to our very much loved family dog whom is getting on in her years. Please find, like and share the page. Its always tough getting going to start off with and facebook advertizing costs are stupidly expensive and out of Dads budget for now. So word of mouth is all he has atm. The shop is open Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays 11am to 5pm. All other times by appointment :) @roxysmodelrailways

15.01.2022 Latest off the work bench BLI PR T-1 blue line. Wasnt running right on dc, and customer wanted DCC installed. Was a simple fix as to why it wasnt running right. Was one of the sensors messing it about caused by factory error. So repair was carried out and a ESU DCC lokpilot was installed. Now it runs smooth and as it should. Auscision 830s. Had 4 of these guys. Nothing wrong with the loco. Just needed its lights reprogramming. As most of you know these locos are programmed fr...om factory to suit those of you that are what are known as purist runners where you change over all the lights yourself. Which theres obviously nothing wrong with that. Just not what everyone prefers. As was the case with these locos owner. Lights are now fully automated for change over. So when the loco changes direction the light do with it. Set up shown is how they appear when its going forward. This is why i swear by ESU chips they are so flexible they can accomdate just about every customers needs :)

14.01.2022 Did this for a customer of mine :) a SAR Long Tom Brake Van. Its a Strath Hobbies kit. Instructions say to glue but u guys know me i dont do things by halves. I soildered the kit together instead for the brass components. And as a personal touch i used clear styrene behind the frame to represent glass windows which i think really set the model off :) very happy with how it came out as is the customer.

14.01.2022 Latest surprise. A work in progress. The Quorn Railway Pay Car N.o. 126. Too my knowledge only one other has been built and its dc. This is dcc and will have lighting to boot. Yes it will all fit :) the chip is already in.

11.01.2022 Progress Update : well the settling in process is well under and away now and the train work has recommenced :) after months of doing nothing its good to get back into it all :) made 3 of these in the last 24hrs :) this is a pre painted kit made by Branchline Trains. Did u know i also do buildings aswell? My skills arent just limited to trains and rolling stock. Address update. Well im no longer located in Elizabeth Vale. Im now at the other end of down. Morphett Vale. I real...ize for some of u this isnt ideal. So ive been chatting with Brian from Junction Models and he has agreed u can use his shop as a drop off point if u cant get down south. Just mention the job is for me to do :) also a good spot to get the bits u need for the job like decoders and kits from makers like Steam Era and Strath Hobbies :) if that still isnt idea chat to me when organising a job and we might be able to organise something :) Hope u are all well and fighting fit :) Amy

11.01.2022 Hi All, those of you that are in regular contact with me know since November last year ive been in the throws of moving due to unforseen circumstances which has had the unfortunate side affect of many jobs being placed on hold untill i could find a place. But today i got a phone call this morning. I now have a place :) i sign paperwork and pick up the keys on Friday :) yes this friday. All moving so fast to my surprise. Hoping to have everything up and running again within th...e fortnight :) and back to doing what i love most :) Thanks for your patience and support in this matter. Kind Regards Amy

09.01.2022 Little while ago i posted a photo showing a bunch of steam era stuff and i asked you guys to guess what it was for. Someone said Z Hoppers. That is correct. 8 of them. Today i finished building them and ready for paint. Yes i did the full detail versions

09.01.2022 This little gem will eventually be part of a mini scene on my layout :) 21 window VW Kombi van. The original model is from highspeed. I couldnt help but give it a total Aussie traveller feel to it. So i made a bullbar, roof rack and surf boards for it. Boards are made from styrene. Roof rack .45mm brass rod and the bullbar 1mm brass rod. All brass parts have been soldered together rather than glued. What scene this will become part of ill keep under my hat untill its finished :) Enjoy

08.01.2022 As most of u know the AMRE lead up things got crazy at my end and now things are starting to get back to normal. Finished this beast a customer gave me a while back to do for them, started out as a QR National. Now its an AN :)
