23.01.2022 Spring: It's time to rid the dampness of winter by spring-cleaning your beautiful body/temple that houses your soul and ignites your spirit. It is the time for new growth as you see all around you in nature and the birth of animals. Spring’s element is wood or life; this represents the coming together of all the four elements; earth (matter our body or the planet), air (air we breath from the planet), water (salty mineral ocean water the same in our body), fire (the sun supp...lying all the prana to the planet keeping all of us alive as in our solar plexus). Bringing these four elements together we get the fifth - Wood (ether, where we all come from and return to), Wood may also be seen as spirit! As spring kicks in the liver and gall bladder become more active as their alkalising properties are ready to clean out the damp of the cold winter season and increase the flow of qi/energy and blood around the body. This energy tends to move upward giving the name of wood like a tree branching out and reaching up to the universe. When these organs are depleted you may feel angry, irritable, sluggish in the mornings even depressed and/or anxious!! It is very important to relax and stay calm for the liver not to become over-heated, try to let go of those repetitive thoughts meditate. A sluggish liver will also affect the digestive system in many ways and may even thicken the blood causing more serious health problems. The liver feeds your body 2 litres of bile every day and ensures a free flow of energy throughout the body; the gall bladder stores the bile.
