23.01.2022 Any version of Christianity that makes the focus of the Christian faith the life of the Christian is what Martin Luther called a theology of glorynot God’s g...lory, but ours. A theology of glory is all about us and what we do. It’s about me and my performance, my obedience, my faithfulness, my potential, my strength, my improvement, and so on. Its main message is our need to do more, try harder, get better, and climb higher. A theology of glory has no room for Christian failure and weakness. It may give lip service to Jesus hanging on a cross for us, but its emphasis is you and me climbing a ladder for Him. The opposite of a theology of glory is what Luther called a theology of the cross. A theology of the cross readily acknowledges that we are weak and weary, bad and broken. We admit that while our love for Jesus will continue to fall short, Jesus' love for us will never fall short. A theology of the cross embraces the beautiful truth that because of what Jesus has accomplished for us, there is nothing we can door fail to dothat will ever tempt God to leave us or forsake us. Because of Jesus, God’s love for us, approval of us, and commitment to us does not ride on our resolve for Jesus but rather on Jesus’ resolve for us. It is, after all, His faithfulness that is great, not ours. Jesus’ words from the cross, It is finished! (John 19:30) mean we are set free from the impossible burden of having to work our way into God’s love and acceptance. This liberates us to admit our faults and failures, our sins and struggles, without fear of rejection. The good news of Christianity rings true when we finally disclose that we are weak and we need help, that we fail, that we’re not as put-together as we want people to think we are. That’s when the rushing wind of God’s amazing grace blows through and reminds us Because Jesus was strong for us, we’re free to be weak; Because Jesus was extraordinary, we’re free to be ordinary; Because Jesus succeeded for us, we’re free to fail; Because Jesus won for us, we’re free to lose.

23.01.2022 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 6:33 NKJV If the poison of pride is swelling up in you, turn to the Eucharist; and that Bread, Which is your God humbling and disguising Himself, will teach you humility. If the fever of selfish greed rages in you, feed on this Bread; and you will learn generosity. If the cold wind of coveting withers you, hasten to the Bread of Angels; and charity will come to blossom in your he...art. If you feel the itch of intemperance, nourish yourself with the Flesh and Blood of Christ, Who practiced heroic self-control during His earthly life; and you will become temperate. If you are lazy and sluggish about spiritual things, strengthen yourself with this heavenly Food; and you will grow fervent. Lastly, if you feel scorched by the fever of impurity, go to the banquet of the Angels; and the spotless Flesh of Christ will make you pure and chaste. + St. Cyril of Alexandria

23.01.2022 You can be right in your belief & wrong in how you respond. Many believers are losing their equity in witness not because of their beliefs but how they are responding. People tend to remember not what we believe but how we react/respond, esp how our response makes them feel.

21.01.2022 The brethren also asked Abba Agathon, Amongst all good works, which is the virtue which requires the greatest effort? He answered, Forgive me, but I think there is no labor greater than that of prayer to God. For every time a man wants to pray, his enemies, the demons, want to prevent him, for they know that it is only by turning him from prayer that they can hinder his journey. Whatever good work a man undertakes, if he perseveres in it, he will attain rest. But prayer is warfare to the last breath. ~~ Desert father- Abba Agathon

19.01.2022 A reminder: Presbyterians were the first to implement the clerical collar among their clergies. Roman Catholics, alongside other denominations, soon adopted it... too. Therefore, no one should assume the collar to be something inherently Roman. The black shirt represents the depraved nature of sin, which enslaves us all. The sin that enslaves not just the laity but the pastor who wears that collar as well. The white tab, placed in front of the wearer's throat, represents the pureness and the holiness of God's Word. It is this pure Word, when preached and taught, that brings us to Christ through faith and sets us free from the bondage of sin.

19.01.2022 We need churches everywhere there are people but the people of the world are moving into cities much faster than the church is statistically

19.01.2022 Some have said I have been insulting and unspiritual in some of my recent comments. Sadly, it is true. Where have I learned such crude language? From some frien...ds I follow on Facebook. Well, technically, not from Facebook, though you can find a lot of their comments on Facebook. I read most of these friends comments in the Bible. There’s this one friend of mine named Paul and he wrote this letter to these people in Galatia and he was arguing with these guys that thought all Christians should be circumcised and he got really mad (enough ands??) and he told them, I wish you guys would just cut off your genitals!! Galatians 5:12 I mean, is that kind of talk called for?!? And he told those same guys if they didn’t agree with him they should go to hell. (Technically accursed, but means the same thing) And he said it twice!! Galatians 1:8-9 Yeah, admittedly, a bad guy. And there is a LOT more insulting things he said and did, but it would take too much time... Then there is this cool friend named Peter. He called some Christians ignorant. 2 Peter 3:16 I mean, is there EVER an excuse to call people ignorant??? Then there is this other friend of mine named Jesusman, look what he said in just one chapter - Matthew 23 You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are. That’s kind of mean. You blind fools! Hey!! Jesus said you should not call people fools!! Ohwait You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel. Well...that’s not very nice. You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. That's kind of insulting. You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Wow! Again with the hell thing. Yes, I apologize to all those who have been offended for using language that I picked up from some of my friends. I have to find better friends.

14.01.2022 Come heed me, my brothers, come heed, one and all Don't brag about standing or you'll surely fall You're shining your light and shine it you should But you're so heavenly minded, you're no earthly good If you're holding heaven, then spread it around... There's hungry hands reaching up here from the ground Move over and share the high ground where you stood So heavenly minded, you're no earthly good The gospel ain't gospel until it is spread But how can you share it where you've got your head There's hands that reach out for a hand if you would So heavenly minded, you're no earthly good If you're holding heaven, then spread it around There's hungry hands reaching up here from the ground Move over and share the high ground where you stood So heavenly minded, you're no earthly good Johnny Cash https://youtu.be/uRkdqnyBeO8

01.01.2022 Repentance is the key to opening the door that God would have you walk through. The door way is to narrow to continue carrying the baggage of the past into the future he has planned for you .
