24.01.2022 "My argument to society at large is that we need to stop thinking about educating children and start thinking about how to provide the conditions that maximize each child’s ability to educate himself or herself." -Peter Gray, PhD https://bit.ly/2NLaaUr

23.01.2022 When I see BABIES at my clinic, I sit with them and I put my hands on them and we often have a little chat. They tell me all about their birth and I listen with... my hands and my ears to what is going on for them. I help them to feel safe and I allow them to release any leftover tension / trauma, and support them in the process. And the comments from mum/dad I get (and they definitely think I'm a bit strange) are: She's really looking into you / talking to you! She's never like this with anyone else!? She really likes you! You're like the baby whisperer! She's so calm, I've never seen her like this! I know I sound a bit (a lot?) crazy when I say all of this, but it is honestly true! And if you know a better way for their symptoms of colic, reflux, irritability, sleep issues etc to resolve, please let me know, because I think this is it! Image courtesy CSTA.

22.01.2022 "Before this century, newborns found themselves in the hands of women: mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and midwives, but in the 20th century, infants collided hea...d-on with physicians, typically male physicians. In the collision, infant senses, emotions, and cognitions were usually ignored. Doctors eventually gave serious attention to the pain of mothers but not to the pain of infants. Pediatricians and obstetricians created painful routines which continue today." From: Excerpts from "Babies Don't Feel Pain: A Century of Denial in Medicine" by David B. 04.01.2022 Thank you for the beautiful words

02.01.2022 Powerful message to parents. Babies grow up to be toddlers, toddlers to children, children to teenagers, teenagers to young adults. Start talking and building relationships with your babies first and then continue building up the relationship as they grow. Tell them your story.

01.01.2022 "We have only ever been taught that babies cry because they are hungry or need to have a diaper change. We have never been told that babies communicate to us ab...out the stresses and traumas they encountered during birth, and that empathic listening can help them release that stress." -Matthew Appleton, MA "Birth Trauma: A Cultural Blind Spot" https://bit.ly/2Yk8zus
