19.01.2022 Lockdown again. Fingers crossed this all ends soon, and we have a return to normalcy (of sorts) soon. This new and unexpected (again, kind of, because nothing is certain lately!) pause has helped me practice in a new way: a short stretch and pranayama in the morning before meditation and longer practice that takes a life of its own in the late afternoon / evenings . 18.01.2022 I’ve been quiet on the socials this last week. Alongside a Spring cleanse that I have been following I have also worked with a diverse range of client groups practicing everything from mindfulness, explaining ayurvedic philosophy, linking back to mental health and emotional regulation, teaching yoga & meditation and so much more. One of the silver linings in this time of intense change is that so many of us, individuals and groups alike, are opening up our eyes to the importa...nce of pausing, space, prioritising self care in many unique ways. Not everyone recalibrates in the same way. Sometimes a pause, doing less or setting a boundary can be the biggest form of self care, and I am glad to see this being considered and actioned . 18.01.2022 24 Degrees in Melbourne today! I worked from a sunny spot at home and soaked up the warmth but made sure to put on a soothing and nourishing skin relief mask, later. Here is a quick aloe and calendula (plus a few other bits and bobs) face mask I put together for today . 14.01.2022 I usually get peckish mid-morning or feel like I want only some light nourishment after yoga practice. Heavy foods can feel tamasic after all that movement and transcending in meditation . I’ve started to enjoy nourishing options like this veggie drink I made on the go with the broth from a pot of bitter green kale that I boiled up the day before (for a meal that I enjoy most weeks). Here, I heated and infused the broth with spices (turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper etc) and macadamia nut oil. Great for the digestion, skin health and generally feeling a glow! . We finished with an exploration of Ananda, inner bliss and joy, that completely stems from within. Not derived from the chase of external pleasure, but an internal organic joy that is always available to you. I will write on this soon . 10.01.2022 I made these beautiful turnip pickles that add a tanginess and digestive boost to all the fresh and cooling green salads I've been having on warmer days. It's a nice way to round out a dish adding a dash of sour tang to the greens. Quite a bit of turnip pickle used here, but this was a base to which a lot more fresh leaves, cucumber, other veg etc were added. I also chopped up the turnips to smaller pieces, and this was for about 2-3 servings. If doing for one, use half the amount . . .

It is excellent to use for massage as it is penetrates deep into the tissues, is exceptionally moisturising and nourishing, and excellent for balancing vata and kapha dosha. It is traditionally used for daily self-massage (abhyanga). Apply in your morning shower and rinse off. . Generally speaking, most yellow flowers, especially like dandelion, benefit the liver and cleansing. This is useful now as we cleanse out the cold of winter and prepare for the warmer days of Spring. 04.01.2022 When discussing wellness habits and routines, you might often have heard of this suggestion to wake up peacefully, without checking phones, socials, emails, calendars. Quite often a part of the ‘programming’ in modern life will be to reach for a device, sometimes with eyes still half closed. Without giving our psyche, energy, minds, selves a chance to recalibrate to the waking state from the dream state . We might carry on then, overtly or subtly impacted by what we see - the... ticking over our to-do lists of having to be somewhere, do the next thing; the inward groan or twinge of being reminded of something you’d rather forget... the list is endless! The point is, the impact of this cannot be understated - right there we give away some part of our power by allowing an influence in before we can set an intention, recalibrate fully . Right after you wake up, you enter a ‘theta’ frequency which is almost a hypnotic state, perfect for reprogramming, intention setting . Next time you wake up, make the most of this window of time by focusing on recalibrating, taking a moment to reflect, set an intention, make an affirmation, smile, breathe doing whatever makes you shine, and giving yourself permission to keep the ‘drainers’ at bay. 03.01.2022 Practice this morning, trying out Eka Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana in a diagonal balancing hold. I fell over so many times but then worked out that when you press into the midline, pigeon toe the feet firmly and switch on the core and shoulders (and focus!!) the balance comes . Challenging but fun! Anyone else tried this? . Happy Wednesday all x

01.01.2022 After nearly 3 months of practicing together, our weekly dawn meditation sessions are coming to a close. What an honour it has been to share time and space with everyone each week, to feel and offer support. Is this the new look of meditation circles for the next little while? Definitely not something we’d have imagined in the past but it has worked... and as always, it’s important to do what you can, in whatever way you can. . These sessions were available from mid July, all... through August and now to the end of September. It was heart warming to see personal practices develop from the many different levels they were at, stories of connecting with visuals and memories and wide open planes of stillness shared with me each week and people telling me they feel more peaceful, calm and centred. Feeling good, feeling less stressed. . I am hoping it has offered peace and joy and left every one with a spark of inspiration to sit down with themselves every day and connect with the infinite potential within and around us .
