17.01.2022 And just when you think you can't get any busier between renovating & extending our house and all the day to day duties of being a mum, wife, friend... the kids come home from school and advise you that it's BookWeek and "these" are the characters we'd like to be.. The Cat in The Hat AND Susan from The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe... YEAY So besides my Gorgeous HiVis construction top, I also had to put on my creative hat and get into costume making mode.. Thankfully the ...Cat wasn't too difficult to bring together but Susan from Narnia.. that was going to be a challenge.. and nobody loves a costume challenge more then me apparently Fortunately we have some pretty cool Op Shops here in Perth so once I got the dress sorted the rest fell into place Then the second part of the conversation came.. "Mum we are also doing a class party, can you bake something" So mini quiches to the rescue & a trip to our glorious fresh food market and we have happy healthy kids To help us get through the morning and keep everyone unstressed and on track, I made my "Get Stuff Done" blend to roll on the back of my neck & help keep me calm... I think it's humbling to do this every now & then.. to put ourselves into perspective & gain some grounding again. 14.01.2022 Not sure what it is with Perth Houses built in the 70s, but in our suburb lots of them have these lovely arches in the walls heading into mainly the living areas... Well NOT ANYMORE for this old house.. Yesterday I got my HiVis on and we started knocking down some walls, well part of them anyways I must say the lead up it brought on a lot of anxieties.. not just about the amount of brick dust that I was going to be left with, or the possibility of it going wrong and the ...ceiling caving in.... I started getting anxious about if we were making the right decision, if the end result would look ok, the fact that we were changing our home that had been relatively good to us for so many years.. we had many firsts in this old house and now we were about to change a crucial feature of it... sure we have added on & built a new kitchen but these arches were part of this house.. part of it soul... 14.01.2022 A gorgeous friend of mine @embrace.life.tecia.flynn once called this the Bitch Stick.. This morning I woke up ratty, tired and not in any mood to human.. I have brick dust ALL through my house thanks to our renovations.. and whilst I am so grateful for the massive transformation that my hubby is doing for our family, there is a point in time when you feel like you are EATING the dust, no matter how much you clean, it becomes a problem.. 08.01.2022 Do you have allergies?? I have a couple.. Cats and Spring Now don't get me wrong I LOVE Spring.. it's one of my favourite seasons.. as for cats... well let's just say I'm more of a dog lover.. With Spring in Perth comes the beautiful blooms of the Bottle Brush trees.. and in our little patch of Perth there are PLENTY of Bottle Brushes and the sneezing begins, my eyes begin to itch & my nose thinks it's doing the London Marathon As with cats.. they just have this built... in radar that guides them straight to me and my eyes not only itch to the point where I could easily scratch them out but they also swell up and my daughters think I'm preparing for Halloween For so long I popped over the counter Antihistamines.
