24.01.2022 OLDER PEOPLE WHO LOVE SINGING OWLS SCHOLARSHIP 2020!! The OWLS Scholarship is made possible through a generous member donation. It is worth $1000 and open to all Victorian residents 32 years and older. The OWLS Scholarship aims to provide support to a matureaged singer. All levels of experience may apply, but the applicant must not be a professional singer or voice teacher. The scholarship money must be spent on lessons OR workshops OR courses pertaining to singing (e.g.vo...ice lessons, languages, body awareness techniques). * A letter of application detailing why you should be awarded the scholarship, along with a budget showing how the money would be spent (approximate 300-400 words). * If appropriate, please indicate whether you're experiencing financial hardship as this will be one of the criteria considered when assessing application. * A video recording of you singing to contrasting songs or song excerpts. * The recording can be of you singing a cappella (unaccompanied) OR using a backing track OR live accompaniment (please be mindful of COVID-19 restrictions). * The recording can be sent as a video file, uploaded on YouTube and the link provided was sent on a DVD.Please note that there is no expectation of a polish performance, but that we simply get an overall impression of the applicant. Applications will be viewed by a panel of three, comprising two members of the Victorian chapter committee of ANATS Ltd. and one independent industry professional who is not necessarily a member of ANATS Ltd. The criteria by which the selection will be made are: * The applicant's musicality and expressivity evident in his/her performance. * The merits of the applicants arguments in outlining their circumstances, including any hardship. * The viability and merit of the study plans outlined by the applicant. All applicants will be notified of the outcome within four weeks of the closing date of applications. * The successful recipient must admit an acquittal detailing how the money has been spent within 12 months of award of the scholarship.
