25.01.2022 Not often Id quote the Channel 7 news, but theyre right on this one: The ban [on uranium mining in NSW] has been in place more than 30 years and there will b...e furious reaction from nuclear opponents. https://7news.com.au//uranium-mining-ban-in-nsw-set-to-be- The Lib govt tried this repeal back in 2012 and a strong coalition of unions, environment and health groups and targeted communities united and stopped the plan (see Charter below). Toxic trade is not an economic plan; we need to be investing in sustainable, long-term jobs for regional NSW that protect country and strengthen communities. The nuclear chain is destructive and produces waste that is dangerous for many generations. We cant let Mark Latham/One Nations Bill pass next week. Please contact your MP (all MPs!) urgently and tell them to vote against the lifting of a long-standing and sensible ban. Your call or email is critical to help stop this Bill passing. No uranium mining! Leave it in the ground!

23.01.2022 A snapshot of the EPBC Review interim reports recommendations on nuclear issues....
22.01.2022 The Fukushima nuclear meltdown in 2011 caused mass evacuations, hundreds of billions of dollars in economic loss and radioactive contamination of land, air and ...oceans. Fukushima remains a profound environmental, economic and human disaster that negatively impacts lives in Japan and far beyond. In the shadow of Fukushima the current pro-nuclear PR push in Australia shows a disrespectful and deep failure to learn some pretty stark lessons. And this matters as Fukushimas fallout all started in the back of a big yellow truck in Australia as Australian uranium was fuelling the Fukushima complex at the time of the disaster. Our uranium trade is dirty, dangerous and irresponsible. There can be no business as usual or promotion of domestic nuclear power given the continuing reality of Fukushima. It is time to keep uranium in the ground and nuclear power off the agenda. Fukushimas lesson is clear: our shared energy future is renewable, not radioactive. #renewablenotradioactive #fukushimaneveragain #nouranium #dontnuketheclimate

16.01.2022 Today, France's oldest nuclear reactor, Fessenheim 1, shut down for good. And yesterday, Greenpeace activists did a direct action at another aging reactor site, opposing nuclear utility EDF's efforts to relicense Tricastin 1-4 for another 10 years of operation.

15.01.2022 Mining on our land makes a big mess to our mother earth. Here, I feel my ancestors around me. Coming back on country is so beautiful. You can sit and listen to... the birds, look at the trees and beautiful plants, and all the small animals to the big animals. In the lead up to International Womens Day this Sunday, we are telling the stories of the women who power the movement and who are standing up and speaking out for people and planet. For four decades Shirley Wonyabong, Elizabeth Wonyabong and Vicki Abdullah have stood against relentless pressure from mining companies, including BHP and now Cameco. Their lifes work has been to protect country and nature, and to inspire their community and others to stand strong too. Weve been fighting this for 40 years and were gonna still fight for it. We wont give up, our country is too important. We will continue to fight for Yeeliree and to change the laws. Their country is Yeeliree a remote part of Western Australia, about 500kms from Kalgoorlie. This place is home to the Tjiwarl people who love and care for this country. It lies on the culturally significant Seven Sisters Songlines which forms many of the stories important to Tjiwarl Traditional Owners. In 2019, Shirley, Elizabeth and Vicki were awarded winners of ACFs conservation award the Rawlinson Award in recognition of their tireless work. For speaking up for their country and culture around campfires, in politicians offices, on the streets of Perth and in Western Australias highest court. #internationalwomensday #IWD #EachforEqual

13.01.2022 Great piece explaining the "four year divisive campaign by the government" to dump radioactive waste in South Australia... this is what a failed democracy looks... like and what we should expect from this government over nuclear power which theyre saying "not without your approval" this is how the manufacture "approval"... http://www.eurekastreet.com.au//fight-against-nuclear-wast?# See more

11.01.2022 Looking forward to hearing from our international friends from India, Taiwan and Japan on their struggle to stop the nuclear industry that Australian uranium is fuelling! #renewablenotradioactive #banuranium

10.01.2022 Check out the DNTC website for links and details on the EPBC Review report... the report makes no recommendation to lift the prohibition on nuclear power and re...commends that the federal government maintains powers to intervene in uranium mining and uranium remains a "matter of national environmental signficance." WE remain cautious of suggestions to further devolve assessment powers to states and territories - a process that has seen the significant weakening of standards at uranium mines. https://dont-nuke-the-climate.org.au/environmental-laws-re/ See more
09.01.2022 As the EPBC Review considers the push from pro nuclear lobby to lift the ban on nuclear power and reduce regulations for uranium mining lets just think about the toxic legacy this industry has left across Australia and the political favours that see this industry continue.
