16.01.2022 Not a great thing to be making a video about but unfortunately Australia is always going to have bush fires in the State Forests. Eucalyptus trees are very flammable and that will never change. Hopefully something is learnt from these fires about fuel reduction and fire breaks. Our personal feeling is the major roads should be cleared a tree length each side so they are never closed from these circumstances again. Makes a great fire break and hell it may even bring down the road toll and maintenance costs. This is not made to say anything to the Andrews government about closing our industry or the greenies, its just a day in the life of a lot of loggers at the moment. There are also a lot not working at all. None of us enjoy seeing trees wasted like this.
16.01.2022 Saturdays line up at its finest.

13.01.2022 Today is the last day to vote on this. As we have said before it is a shame to not be able to harvest and recover some of these burnt forests. At the moment the poll is in favour of doing nothing by 53%.

12.01.2022 Saturday fire update. Things are still going well on opening up roads by removing all the hazardous trees to allow the ground staff access. On Thursday Daryl had to walk his machine 14 kms on hard rocky roads to get to the next area. For those that dont know what that feels like..., its like standing on a vibra-gym for 6 hours shaking yourself to bits. (hands only just stopped enough now to write this ) Todays plan is to get down to the Dartmouth lake. Its only 4 km...s but we drop from 1200m in altitude down to 500. Then have to walk back up. (machines are guna need some new runners after this) Today Pera has replaced Daryl for the weekend, Daniel is doing a great job keeping the maintenance up to scratch and Terry should claim king of the mountain. Meanwhile, Jako and the boys are carting hay into Swift Creek now the roads are open. Toot toot

10.01.2022 So another year starts with a bacon n egg breakfast and discussions about what we did right last year. 3.5million kilometres travelled shifting 25,000 loads with only one LTI. Fantastic job done by everyone. Thanks Alan from ATSSS for the roll over refresher and Chris from HVP for sharing the videos and stats with us. One bush is back to work and the other off to help with the fires so not the start we wanted but feel very lucky compared to people that have losses from the fires. 09.01.2022 Wednesday fire report. We get to work today to be told that in a hour we have to leave the forest because they are expecting heavy rain. Seemed a bit strange on a 31 degree day but ok you guys are the boss. They did say that because you have been doing such a good job, here are some overalls so you can look like us and be part of our team... (Terry reckons they cant be very waterproof if they cant handle the rain) This gave us the opportunity to drive around and look at so...me of the damage. Thousand after thousands of hectares of burnt farmland and forests. So many farmers out fixing their boundary fences trying to get some normality back into their lifes. But, we did find a truck for Jackos next Saturday lineup.... wouldnt quite start mate. Think its the turbo or ECU #smoke is affecting my brain... needed the laugh
08.01.2022 Its Freezing Friday in the Corryong area today. High of 2 degrees.
