18.01.2022 The Captains helped to make some recycled paint pallets using scrap pieces of laminate flooring and recycled bottle lids. 17.01.2022 The Captains were very excited to embark on a River Kindy journey to collect rubbish for Clean Up Australia Day. The Captains used their self help skills to put on their sunscreen, hats, vests, gum boots and their protective gloves before engaging in discussions about the impact of rubbish on our environment and the danger it can cause to our animals. We emphasised the importance of placing our rubbish in the bin and categorised our rubbish into general rubbish and recycling.... We used our biodegradable Clean Up Australia Day bags, yellow was for recycling and white was for general. The Captains were very proud to fill up one bag of each colour. We also collected some natural treasures to bring bag to preschool. Through this initiative the Captains are learning all about land conservation while also helping save our local wildlife. The purpose of this initiative is to encourage children to become responsible world citizens who can contribute to a sustainable future. #cleanupaustralia #StepUpToCleanUp
