24.01.2022 The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depth...s. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Sir Hubert von Herkomer and Norman Hirst - Daphne, 1899.

16.01.2022 In my family the pink and grey Galah’s are known as Aunties. If you take the time to watch them you will see they are just like a group of Aunties who sit and c...hat. They travel in large groups and make lots of noise as they land and begin their talks about important things. They are Nayooks (cockatoos) and as such mate for life. They love grass seeds and native plants such as the banksia. I haven’t seen them at my place for nearly a year, this week as I struggled with a few things on my mind they were such a welcome sight, confirmation that my Aunties in spirit are around me, sending me love. This one came and sat with me on the verandah isn’t she beautiful. It’s so important to care for Beeyak (country) so Auntie can share with us. See more
16.01.2022 Night Parrots found on Martu Country Martu rangers have successfully located the elusive Night Parrot! For two years, KJ's ranger teams have been using sound re...corders to search for the mysterious birds which are one of the rarest in the world. Experts from the University of Queensland have been assisting the search and, to the rangers’ delight, the hard work has finally paid off! I feel really good to have found that Night Parrot, we were lucky to put that sound recorder in the right spot, said Martu ranger Gavin Nanudie. The find highlights the critical work undertaken by Indigenous rangers to look after their country. Martu rangers manage over 14 million hectares of country in the Great Sandy and Little Sandy deserts including Karlamilyi National Park. Threatened Species Officer Daniel Johanson told Ngaarda Media the Rangers were gathering knowledge from Elders about the Night Parrot and the list of Elders to be consulted about the language name for the parrot was a work in progress. It is the fifth confirmed location of the Night Parrot in Western Australia, adding to a growing body of knowledge regarding their ecology in the region. Four of the five records are associated with salt lake systems that offer protection from large fires and provide important feeding and roosting areas for the critically endangered species. We found them in the lake area where the feed and water and big spinifex is continued Mr Nanudie. The rangers are now focussed on two priorities: finding other populations of night parrots and locating the roosting site of the recent find. As the search spreads out across Martu Country, the results will inform the rangers ongoing management of the region. We’ll keep looking for them around the lakes. If we find that nest, we’ll do a little bit of burning, not too much, to protect them said Mr Nanudie. The search for the Night Parrot has been a collaborative effort between Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa and Dr Stephen Murphy from the University of Queensland, and was made possible by the Aboriginal Ranger Program funded by the Western Australian Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. The project has combined the Martu rangers’ local knowledge of their country with Dr Murphy’s experience researching the species in Queensland. The recent discovery of Night Parrots on Martu country is a great example of two-way science, where detailed knowledge of country was combined with knowledge of Night Parrot ecology to identify the kinds of places the species might persist. The discovery illustrates how supporting people to be on country - which maintains and builds knowledge - can lead to nationally significant conservation outcomes said Dr Murphy. The Night Parrot is the latest addition to a growing list of threatened species that find refuge on Martu Country. The Martu rangers actively manage populations of the Greater Bilby, the Great Desert Skink, and the Black-flanked Rock-wallaby. They have also recently confirmed the presence of the Pilbara Leaf-nosed Bat. Martu elders guide the work of the rangers in keeping country and culture strong. All the future generations should be working to look after country, burning the right way, looking after Rock-wallabies and digging out waterholes, said Mukki Taylor OAM, KJ’s Senior Cultural Advisor. 13.01.2022 He came and joined the colours, when the War God's anvil rang, He took up modern weapons to replace his boomerang, He waited for no call-up, he didn't need a pu...sh, He came in from the stations, and the townships of the bush. He helped when help was wanting, just because he wasn't deaf; He is right amongst the columns of the fighting A.I.F. He is always there when wanted, with his Owen gun or Bren, He is in the forward area, the place where men are men. He proved he's still a warrior, in action not afraid, He faced the blasting red hot fire from mortar and grenade; He didn't mind when food was low, or we were getting thin, He didn't growl or worry then, he'd cheer us with his grin. He'd heard us talk democracy--, They preach it to his face-- Yet knows that in our Federal House there's no one of his race. He feels we push his kinsmen out, where cities do not reach, And Parliament has yet to hear the Abo's maiden speech. One day he'll leave the Army, then join the League he shall, And he hope's we'll give a better deal to the Aboriginal. Poem by Sapper Bert Beros, a non-Aboriginal soldier in WWII. Written about an Aboriginal soldier, Private West.

04.01.2022 Delighted to be in Derby to officially rename the iconic King Leopold Ranges the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges! A long time in the making, these 600km long ranges w...as named after the Belgian King in 1879 by Alexander Forrest. Leopold went on to massacre many African people. He never set foot in Western Australia. Wunaamin Miliwundi is a combined name of the Ngarinyin and Bunuba people. Our stories and languages are part of our country and our country's story is much older than the former King.
01.01.2022 We’re asking people to please send energy to the Ngaltawaddi Ceremony being held at Uluru, located in the Northern Territory, Australia, on January the 12th, 20...20, and to visualize the Cosmic Umbilical Cord being healed. THE INTERRUPTED CEREMONY In January 2020, a massive planetary energy activation is due to occur on Earth at the time of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction. At this time, the planetary Solar Plexus Chakra located at Uluru (formerly Ayre’s Rock) and Kata Tjuta, in Central Australia, will be fully activated. Aboriginal lore tells of a ritual back in the Dreamtime that was interrupted and never completed. This ritual was meant to fulfil the great plan of the Earth Spirit. Once the ritual is consummated, ‘perfection will spread throughout the world’. In other words, this ritual will open the way from 4th to 5th world consciousness.’ This event is symbolised by a great pole, or cosmic umbilical cord, which unites Earth with the Sun. It is predicted that this cord will begin to function in 2020 AD, at the time of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction. Together, Uluru and Kata Tjuta form the world Solar Plexus Chakra. This is the primary chakra for the maintenance of global health and vitality of the planet, and all living things. If things are not right here, then the whole world system suffers. It is now time for this to be healed. The healing began in October, 2019, when a total ban on climbing the highly sacred site of Uluru was declared. According to Robert Coon, author of ‘The Rainbow Serpent and the Holy Grail,’ this powerful activation will also involve a blast of divine light and energy through the song lines (ley lines) of the planet, connecting all of Earth’s main chakras together, and most especially one of the main energy arteries/song lines referred to by the Aboriginal people as The Rainbow Serpent (representing Divine Feminine Energy to many). This line starts at Uluru (solar plexus) and travels through Bali (world purification centre), to Glastonbury (heart and third eye chakras), to Lake Titicaca (sacral chakra) and then back around and through to Uluru. The planetary event in January 2020 is actually a rare quadruple conjunction involving Saturn, Pluto, Mercury and the Sun. The previously interrupted ceremony will culminate in the reactivation of the Solar Umbilical Cord of Planet Earth with the Sun, and on deeper levels with the Great Central Sun. This, in turn, will assist in the creation of an archetypical communication between the Sun and Earth, to help us to more fully embrace a ‘Golden Age’. Several weeks ago, one of our group received the message that ‘it is time to tap within’. She was shown bubbles of light building up around the two energy centres of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. She could see Aboriginal people singing this energy into a bubble, then the waters breaking from an amniotic sac. A pale blue, crystalline light and then a mauve light built up around it. She was told that part of the DNA of the Aboriginal people is vibrating and contributing to the birthing/activation. We’re asking people to please send energy to the Ngaltawaddi Ceremony being held at Uluru, located in the Northern Territory, Australia, on January the 12th, 2020, and to visualize the Cosmic Umbilical Cord being healed. Here are words to assist this healing of the World Solar Plexus Chakra: Let the sun shine on Uluru and Kata Tjuta, Let the Pathway of the Rainbow Serpent be clear, So that greater health and vitality may circulate Throughout the world to bless all beings; Today, breathe ----- relax ----- smile---- and give thanks to the Earth.
