24.01.2022 Its only stuff. Let it go.

21.01.2022 Lets set ourselves a mission during self isolation. Look around you. We all have too much STUFF. Most of it completely unnecessary. It gets in the way of us living our lives. We spend so much time cleaning it, dusting it, moving it around to make space for yet more stuff, looking through it all to find misplaced things. STUFF complicates our lives and clutters up our space and our minds. We are like bower birds hoarding our pretty shiny things to impress. Our homes are full of storage areas bursting with things weve probably forgotten about. Keep following. Lets simplify and cull and get rid of STUFF!!

20.01.2022 Creating the perfect childrens playroom from a cluttered storage loft. All toys and games gone from sight and underfoot in the family room which is now for grownups things only! A beautiful space for the children to call their own. Sorted! Get in touch if you would like the same transformation.

18.01.2022 Finding things to fill our days at the moment that doesnt involve a screen is tricky and trying to find silver linings is difficult in home detention with all this uncertainty and fear. But try and think of it as a brilliant opportunity to get around to those jobs weve put off for weeks, months or even years. Papers/linen/clothes/kitchen/pantry/photos/toys/books. Its so important for our mental health to have ordered surroundings. Set yourself tasks, write a list. A room a day or even just a drawer a day. It will make such a difference. Messy homes and workspaces leave us feeling anxious, helpless and overwhelmed yet rarely is clutter recognised as being a significant source of stress in our lives. Psychologist Sherri Bourg-Carter

16.01.2022 Have you sorted your whole kitchen yet? Time is ticking people and it will make such a difference - youll know exactly what you have and where it lives. Do it all at once (or if you just cant face it do a drawer or cupboard a day and sort/clean as you go.) Get everything out of every drawer and cupboard put in to category piles as you go. Clean all drawers and cupboards and line the bottom with rubber non slip matting. Look at each category and ask yourself do I REALLY n...eed 4 potato peelers/ 5 whisks/10 wooden spoons/ 20 dinner plates? How many salad bowls and platters do I actually need and use? Most things are probably used once a year if that so move those things used rarely to the back/top of a shelf eg Christmas plates or better still just get rid of most of them. Say goodbye to the dusty rice cooker / coffee machine thats broken or unused and takes up all that space. Just say thank you, bye and put it all in boxes and donate to a shelter or charity. Or sell/give away online. Tupperware and containers are always a challenge. Pair lids with bases and get rid of any singles (use spare bases in the pantry or bathrooms to group things) Stack bases inside each other to store and stack lids nearby upright next to each other. Plates and cups should go into large drawers if possible rather than cupboards. Change up the layout of the whole kitchen to one that makes sense. Have the coffee cups closest to the kettle. Or move the kettle! Clear the decks and give yourself plenty of bench space. Change the adjustable shelf heights to make better use of storage. Consider using drawer dividers for implements and a large shallow container you can look down on is handy to slide out as you would a drawer from inaccessible deep shelves. Some big things like chopping boards, trays and large platters are best stored on their sides. Book ends are helpful here. Use a large pot, jug or vase to store often used implements/wooden spoons etc. Knife blocks are safest rather than drawers. Sorted! See more

15.01.2022 How are we doing at home people? Bored yet? Lets get the pantry sorted today! Get everything out onto the benches/table and categorise as you go. Sweet/savoury/cans/rice & pasta etc/ flour & baking/cereals/oils & vinegars/ Asian sauces/ spices etc Chuck away anything with an expired use by or looks like it has creatures living inside. Wipe clean the sticky bottles, clean (and line if you like) the shelves. (Promise to get creative in the kitchen with the weird and unusua...l things you will find.) Store packets in labelled or clear plastic sealed lidded containers or decant packets into them to stop moth/weevil infestations. Change the layout! Replace it all in to the pantry thinking about the items you access more regularly and keep them more handy. Also put forbidden things like chocolates out of reach of the children. Consider a stepped rack to make things like spices at the back of cupboards more visible. Use large shallow tubs in deep shelves as you would a drawer for easy access to the back. Job done. Sorted. Stand back and admire your work. See more

14.01.2022 Before, during and after. Such a transformation So happy these lovely clients were prepared to let go of 5 cubic metres of their unused STUFF. Sorted.....

13.01.2022 Like right now people....

13.01.2022 Please like and follow my new page. I will bring you helpful practical ideas to get you sorted. Now were all staying at home, this is the perfect time to declutter and reorganise.

10.01.2022 Say thank you and goodbye. This week a beautiful client and I were discussing the emotional side of the difficult task of decluttering. Its about giving yourself permission to let go of your possessions once they have served their purpose, then move them on and out of your house. There are so many charities to give them to. Yes its hard but now its time to pass them on to another family who will enjoy them. Say thank you and goodbye. Repeat.

09.01.2022 Heres a yum change from the usual meals. Its something quick, healthy, cheap and simple you can try. EASY ROASTED PUMPKIN SOUP Delicious, rich and silky, the roasting of the pumpkin before turning it into soup really brings out sweetness and depth of flavour. My husband proudly brought home from Coles a massive heavy halloween type whole pumpkin. I usually hate the cutting skin off as its hard and dangerous work risking fingers but this recipe just needs a big sharp knife... and only a few cuts. I used the whole huge pumpkin, my biggest saucepan and had lots of leftovers for the freezer. You dont really need to peel the potatoes as the skins will be puréed anyway. Pumpkin or squash of any kind Potatoes skin on or off, chopped (approx one third of the amount of the pumpkin) Garlic and onion chopped Stock of any kind. Cut up pumpkin into big slices, seeds/skin and all. Roast in the oven skin down, without oil until golden and soft (a fork will go in easily) on a tray lined with baking paper. Meanwhile put garlic, onion and potato into a large pan and soften with a little oil. Add stock and simmer until potatoes are soft. Discard pumpkin seeds and skin, scraping well all the flesh off the skin into the pan with a metal spoon including all the browned caramelised bits on the edges as theyre full of flavour. Simmer briefly then purée well with a stick blender. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with a drizzle of cream. Yum! Variations can include the addition of fresh grated ginger with the onions, a little grated orange rind, chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil, or middle eastern spices like cumin.

08.01.2022 Fostering independence in young children and increasing their self esteem as a result, can be as easy as arranging and organising their belongings in easy to access shelves and drawers in a way that makes sense to them. Get in touch if you would like the same.

06.01.2022 Another happy customer is sorted! From this.....to this..... pantry and kitchen now function brilliantly and easy to use systems in place. Contact me if you would like the same.

04.01.2022 Time to get your jewellery sorted. Free plug for Howards stackers but in my opinion they really are the best way to store and sort your jewellery. Particularly handy for most things are the stacks with 25 small sections. Buy online and get them delivered. Not cheap but will last forever and available in several colours. Better than other open air, hanging style storage leading to tarnishing and dust and they look good on the dressing table too. Untangle, pair/sort and ...get rid of any tat. (Charity shops happy to take, just pop neatly in small ziplock bags) Best not to clean jewellery over a sink as bits can (and do!) disappear down the plug hole. Get a bowl of warm water, ALL your jewellery, cleaning liquid of choice (see photo for my favourites), a tea towel or kitchen towel, an old toothbrush for scrubbing, sit down in front of a mirror trying on as you go. Earrings/necklaces/bracelets etc can each have their own layer in the stack so its so easy to view and access everything. Our naughty cat Pudding is a bit of a magpie, he likes to steal unsecured shiny things to play with and takes them back to hide in his bed. So its essential to keep precious bits hidden away from him (and the dust.) So get to it! See more

04.01.2022 "Messy homes and workspaces leave us feeling anxious, helpless and overwhelmed. Yet, rarely is clutter recognised as a significant source of stress in our lives... Clutter bombards our minds with excessive stimuli, causing our senses to work overtime on stimuli that aren't necessary or important." - Sherri Bourg Carter (psychologist)

03.01.2022 Never again will we get this gift of time. Use it wisely people.

01.01.2022 How much do we love an organised spice cupboard? Plus towels all rolled and stacked is what was needed here with deep cupboards. Sorted! Get in touch if you would like the same.

01.01.2022 https://www.vinnies.org.au//NSW/Donation_Drop-Off_Stations/ Vinnies are accepting donations now. All of us will have managed to do some sort of clear out during isolation. The charity collection bins are overflowing and not being emptied but there are many collection points open daily. Each of these donation drop-off points are now ready to accept quality donations of clothes, bric-a-brac, books and household items. See the link for options.
