23.01.2022 Come down to Hawthorn Bunnings this Saturday 15th Feb and support our fundraising sausage sizzle. Thanks to our supporters Bunnings Hawthorn, Coles, Costco Docklands, Top Shelf Fruits Ashburton, Boccaccio SUPA IGA Balwyn and Bakers Delight Kew. Thanks also to all the volunteers who will be running the stall on Saturday.

23.01.2022 During the school holidays, the Andale School buildings underwent a facelift! The freshly painted exterior walls of the school have rejuvenated the look and feel of the school. We have incorporated the green colour of the heritage listed building (the middle classroom) throughout the school. The painting works were funded by a portion of the money raised at the very successful Andale Ball held last year in November.

22.01.2022 Karate is one of the highlights of the Andale week. David, Amelia and their team from Art Of Defence Australia work positively with the children teaching karate skills and techniques which build self esteem and confidence. The children feel such a sense of achievement when they gain enough skills to achieve a new rank or belt colour.

21.01.2022 Its lunch time why dont you head down to Bunnings Hawthorn and buy a sausage and drink and support the Andale School. We have some very enthusiastic volunteers ready to serve you.

20.01.2022 There are lots of hands on activities to develop numeracy skills at Andale.

19.01.2022 The final week of term was a busy one with the family BBQ, a bowling excursion and farewelling our 2019 graduates. The sense of community at Andale was proudly on display as staff, students and families came together to celebrate another fantastic year at Andale.

18.01.2022 We are excited to introduce Andales new Principal Justin Walsh. He wishes to share the following with our community: Id like to thank the Andale community for such a warm welcome to the school. I am very much looking forward to the day when school can resume to normal and the school is busy again with student learning and being with their friends. I was particularly attracted to the small and nurturing environment that Andale School is able to offer its students and famil...ies. When students experience learning difficulties I believe it important that they have access to a nurturing, calm and orderly learning environment. The setting also affords the opportunity for the school and families to share responsibility for students learning while encouraging students to see themselves as partners in their education. For any school, the inclusion of new staff brings an opportunity to consider new ideas. Andale School is a school that is looking to the future and at its position in the local education community, so the appointment of a new Principal seems to be perfectly timed. I would like to see Andale School recognised as a school of first choice for families. From the stories I have already heard I know that the work done by Andale staff has an enormous impact on the lives of students and their families. This work has changed the way students see themselves. At times taking a young person from a place where they have had their confidence knocked and wondering where they fit in, to a feeling of belonging. And in turn families feeling that they have found their place. I look forward to working with the Andale team and community to continue to provide quality educational opportunities for our students. 17.01.2022 This artwork really does POP! Inspired by the work of Andy Warhol, the colours look great and are brightening up the staffroom windows.

16.01.2022 Maths at home. The use of objects such as counters or blocks help students to learn in a hands on way mathematical concepts such as counting, addition and subtraction. As maths is full of abstract concepts, objects allow the students to explore ideas by playing with them, exploring patterns and making connections with prior learning.

16.01.2022 Our students were superstars as we filmed our brand new Andale video which will be premiered at the Andale Night In. A drone was also used for some footage. Very exciting times at Andale!

13.01.2022 Technology is used to support learning across a range of curriculum areas including maths, literacy and integrated studies. The use of assistive technologies allows students to utilise their strengths while working around the challenges of their learning difficulties which may have previously impeded their learning.

09.01.2022 Andale participates in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. The children take turns to plant and garden and then cook or bake. This week we made pear and cinnamon muffins with pears grown in our garden. Not only do the children learn preparation and cooking skills but they are encouraged to try new foods they may not have tasted before. The recipes are available each week in our newsletter.

08.01.2022 As we return to remote and flexible learning our teachers have been working hard to provide our students with interesting and engaging activities. This beautiful piece of work was created at home.
