21.01.2022 Please take the time to read about the great work that Sonya at Mad Cow is doing around Mackay and consider donating so she can expand her services in the area of suicide prevention and mental health care. Every dollar will make a difference.

21.01.2022 Seems some essential oils are not safe for dogs, even if only in diffuser.

20.01.2022 https://youtu.be/RNikdyyTWyA I've just enjoyed this meditation and found it very calming. I imagine it would be a great relief for those suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and just when you feel overwhelmed. Take 10 minutes to try it out. Breathe. Relax. Enjoy

20.01.2022 Great 11min video! This guy makes growing food look so easy and he's a photographer so it's a lovely visual journey also. The growing season is upon us and this weekend has been perfect for soil prep and seed planting. Happy gardening everyone.

19.01.2022 I’d certainly agree on this. If you drink lemon water often I recommend rinsing your mouth after so the acid doesn’t affect your teeth.

19.01.2022 I so agree with this concept. So far this year I have managed to eat and share the following foods from my newly established (chemical free) garden: tomatoes basil (mountains of pesto enjoyed) oregano... rosemary - great for the brain capsicum (not great but will keep trying) carrots!! - first time I've ever had success beetroot - excellent for cardiovascular and liver health celery - amazing as juice microgreens spinach and silverbeet rocket - also great in pesto strawberries (tiny but sweet) snow peas lettuce flowers - edible and beautiful and pest control pumpkin - not great but will try another variety pak choy turnips radish perilla (medicinal and great as tea) lemongrass lemonbalm - great as a tea for the nervous system and insomnia Andrographis - great for immune support and huge amounts of parsley (how much tabbouleh can one girl eat??) The best thing is knowing that I am drinking juice and eating food that is freshly picked and organic and I feel abundant. It is food security and nourishment. Start somewhere, start in a pot, a box, one garden bed at a time! Get outdoors and enjoy your space and ground your mind and body.

19.01.2022 Open for business!! I’ve reopened my clinic and am happy to offer face to face consultations. Appointments are available late afternoons, Fridays and Saturdays. Please call on 0410704240 to book in.

19.01.2022 Random opening of this book found me reading the second paragraph. It’s a great reminder about what life is actually about. I feel that sometimes we get stuck in the mundane or busyness of our lives and then wonder what it’s all for. #whatareweherefor #enjoythenow

19.01.2022 Very, very, very useful read. Talks about hygiene, cleaning, isolation tips and much more. Very practical and worth reading and putting into practice to slow the spread of the virus.

16.01.2022 If you’re keen to grow food and useful plants you’ll enjoy this garden tour.

13.01.2022 Aging occurs physically and mentally - and yes I am feeling both of those effects at times! This is an interesting read with practical advice about nutrition and lifestyle to help slow down cognitive decline. Have a read, then do some exercise - or go for a drive somewhere you've never been (you'll get it once you've read the article).

12.01.2022 I’m so enjoying this book. It is getting me back to the roots of Naturopathic practices. This morning I’m amazed at how special comfrey is. Have a read- especially if you suffer from gastritis or any inflammatory gut issue. Comfrey is also great as a fertiliser in your garden. Just rip up the leaves and store in bucket adding water and leaves. Use diluted with water in watering can. Stinks but is worth it.

12.01.2022 Sprouts are a great addition to your diet and are very nutritious. You don’t need special jars or muslin - just use a clean chux type cloth and rubber band.

12.01.2022 Great info about growing sprouts at home and therefore getting more nutritious green alkalising foods in your diet.

12.01.2022 I’m sure you’ve all heard of Dr Teo, a respected neuro surgeon. The first few minutes of this talks confirms to me how dangerous mobile phones are. I therefore encourage you to avoid exposure as much as possible.

12.01.2022 Great article about composting. There's great reward in recycling your food waste!

12.01.2022 If my 20 year old son can meal prep and consistently go to the gym to achieve his health goals anyone can. #proudmama #achieveyourgoals #discipline #motivation

11.01.2022 Here’s one way to boost your immune system ie a session in the sun to boost up Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D can also alleviate symptoms of depression and is vital in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus therefore improves bone density. So get outdoors, dig in the garden, walk on the beach and play tag with the kids.

09.01.2022 Here are some very useful strategies for growing some food. Good for your health and rewarding for your soul.

09.01.2022 This makes a point.

07.01.2022 This is a great concept and I hope more ideas like these take shape in our communities. Sharing space enables a sense of connection and belonging - which is all we really want as human beings. It is also a great use of resources ie land, building materials, finances. To have people feel secure in such uncertain times is doable and the way forward.

07.01.2022 The mental health issues related to lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. The wonderful charity MIND have a 24 hour helpline: 1300 554 660 My advice includes time in nature, time connecting with friends and family, exercise, music, healthy eating, adequate water and prescribed herbs and minerals. If you need help please reach out.

07.01.2022 Why is growing so much of our own food so important to us? Because if you’re looking for true, energising health this is where it starts. Right here not in th...e blender, not in the fridge, not even in the kitchen! Don’t get me wrong, these things obviously play an important role, but the most important part comes before the food even gets to the kitchen! It starts in the soil. Over the last 100 years of supermarkets & convenience stores we’ve lost touch with where our food truly comes from, we’ve forgotten what it means to eat seasonally, to be more self reliant, to have control over our own food supply & we’ve forgotten that the quality of the food we eat is determined by the quality of the soil it was grown in. When I say quality I don’t mean How fancy is the restaurant that serves it? I mean how healthy was the soil? Is it rich in nutrients & beneficial microbes? How long ago was the food harvested? Has it been genetically modified or sprayed with any pesticides, especially Glyphosate - the most widely used pesticide in the world? It can seem like the issues of GMOs & Glyphosate are a bigger deal overseas, particularly in the US & while it’s true that in Australia we grow fewer GM crops than in the US, we have no problem importing GM ingredients (you’ll find them in up to 80% of processed foods on supermarket shelves!) + there are almost 600 registered glyphosate containing products on the market in Australia. On top of this, a new kind of GMO called SDN1 has been deregulated meaning we will no longer know if our food supply is genetically modified or not. This is why it’s so important for us to grow as much of our own food as we can! Not only does it give you a whole new level of appreciation & connection to where your food comes from (not to mention the food itself!), not only does it let you control the amount of nutrients in your soil by adding in ingredients that will nourish the soil, your food & ultimately you, but it allows you to live a more self-sufficient life, to rely less on ‘the system’ & to take back control of your own food supply. This is why we created Real Food, Real Health - our FREE 3 part video series - To make it easy for you to start living a truly energised life & start growing the best quality organic wholefoods easily. Hit the link to sign up now because it won’t be up for long!

06.01.2022 I have not heard this speaker but thought I would share this event in light of the current circumstances.

05.01.2022 Purchase locally grown garlic - you can even get really local ie from Eungella. Now I’m trying to grow my own.... just gotta be patient.

04.01.2022 Here's an amazing syrup to make full of goodies for coughs, colds, poor circulation, sinus and sluggish digestion. Think I'll have to track down some horseradish root!

03.01.2022 If you or someone you love is suffering with PMS, PMDD, Perimenopause symptoms and depression and menopause please know that there are solutions. I’ve just attended a webinar presenting effective treatment protocols and I’m keen to help women to improve their symptoms and quality of life.

03.01.2022 I’m sharing this as it’s often the simple things that make a difference in our lives. It’s up to us to prioritise the activities in our day. Often too busy running around like chooks without heads- what’s the point? I’d also like to suggest that herbal medicine is in-fact food from Mother Nature and can assist with many mood disorders. There are herbs to address anxiety, depression, pain, and fatigue - mental, adrenal and physical. Take care of yourself.

03.01.2022 Here you go! I have used vinegar as fabric softener for years. This article explains how and why and the other ways to use vinegar eg removing stains. I also spray on my tiles in the shower to stop the mold and use bicarb and vinegar to clean sinks, baths and benches etc.

01.01.2022 I am feeling the process of aging as my senses dull and the aches and pains creep in... perhaps I need to focus on these four simple things?
