19.01.2022 ‘This Artist’s Mind’ My today as an artist, rise at 5.30am all the usual stuff then 3hours in the front garden. Which to me is one of my major works and I still love to touch up the details. So I’ve mowed the lawns and cut the edges. The drive is my key hole design, set at an upward angle for visibility and took me many hours to set the proportions to my satisfaction. The ‘driveway’ actually determined the exact location of the house. The front elevation of the house is v...ery carefully proportioned with 30 degree roof angles and specific over hanging eaves and exactingly sized gables. Unfortunately, the many Tuscan Pencil Pines died aged around 18, so are missing. The Frangipani are now mature and planted about 17 years ago . I feel very privileged and lucky to have realised this particular artistic dream. This in not some huge monolithic, ostentatious purchase crafted by strangers. But rather, a very personal statement of my artistic style which has taken many enjoyable hours to create and maintain. This time we live in, is giving me a ‘space’ to reflect on many aspects.
