25.01.2022 THANK YOU LITHGOW WORKIES! On Tuesday, I sat down with some absolute legends from the Lithgow Workies Geoff Wheeler and Howard Fisher who invited me along to check out their COVID-safe plan. They were grateful for the Australian Government’s JobKeeper package and have done a fantastic job getting things up and running again after the shutdown. ... While I was there, we couldn’t help but reflect on the harrowing experiences of last summer’s bushfires. Lithgow Workies was in the thick of it. They went above and beyond to provide a place of refuge for their community that was under siege, including pets! It was an oasis of calm in a sea of fury. Staff provided countless meals to weary firefighters and those who had nowhere else to go. They are truly deserving of being highly commended under the 2020 Resilient Australia Awards for supporting the community. Thank you. You were a lifeline during that terrible summer and we are forever grateful. Photo caption: Andrew with Howard Fisher and Geoff Wheeler. 03.01.2022 The triathletes were out in force on Saturday at Gosling Creek near Orange to help officially open a new section of the running and bike track and also a new storage shed which the Australian Government has contributed to with $12,000 from the Stronger Communities Fund. The Orange Cycle & Triathlon Club - The Piranhas have put a huge amount of work into the project as have many other partners and supporters and the results are outstanding. If you haven’t been out to Gosling Creek lately it’s well worth the trip to check it out!

02.01.2022 It was terrific to participate in the sod-turn to formally launch Stage 3 of Orange’s Southern Feeder Road! Stage 3 covers a 2km stretch of road that will go from Elsham Avenue to the Mitchell Highway and follow the same line as Dairy Creek Road and Blowes Road. There’s going to be a new intersection where the new road meets the highway roughly 250 metres west of the current intersection, which is out near the old Bunnings building on the highway and the Driver Reviver site.... The Australian Government has contributed over $9.1 million to the Southern Feeder Road Project and $3 million of that is going into Stage 3. It’s going to mean less congestion in and around Orange which is great news, and our roads are going to be safer. I love projects like this because they are a great investment in country Australia!
