13.01.2022 I really admire the people that have been really leaning in during our events 'off-season', so it was great to speak with Georgie Stayches on her 'Insights Interview Series', as Georgie has been offering great webcasts and panel discussions on all the important topics, to help us come out the other side of this phase in a much better position. So it was great to chat - and we shared our thoughts on why ‘the experience’ is all the talk, what you can do to design more influenti...al experiences, and how we go about it. - how the experience will matter the most, to decide whether people sign up and show up again - how event planning compares to other innovative industries, plus what has - and what hasn’t changed. - how to create customer journeys by walking in their shoes - how to set up Experience Design sessions - why this approach is about the customer, but it’s also about you - and how you can genuinely allow everyone on your team to contribute to design and debriefs, and how is interesting where the great ideas actually do come from! And, if you would like to hear more about ‘Experience Design for Events’ there are some free sessions from our new course here... https://experiencedesign.teachable.com/p/experience-design- #events #experiencedesign #eventmanager

10.01.2022 I like to keep things simple, especially in times of uncertainty, and in my experience working across many various events, of different sizes and genres, there are still just 3 key parts to success, and I think this ‘ABC’ should be front of mind when making your decisions. My latest Blog will take you through the 3 criteria when you’re deciding what is right, and what is not a good decision, right now.

09.01.2022 Our lived experiences provide the richest learnings and when the lessons are shared they become even more valuable, so I was thankful to learn from the experiences of some of those who have been leading the way within our event industry. Today's Event Show shared some success stories of major events remerging, and as so please tune in to hear it all, and thanks to + Todd Harris CEO at Stadiums Queensland whose team have been hosting some of the first major events post COVID... + Lindy Murphy who helped deliver the Super Netball League Ltd from within a hub + Brendon Downey from the Event Crew who has delivered some of our first post-COVID mass participation events in recent weeks Their experiences may be very valuable to apply in your work, and our panel provided some practical lessons and personal experiences from which I think we can all learn from. You can view it all here and please do share with anyone you think may find these learnings valuable to apply in their work > https://lnkd.in/gPv2Yis ++ for a free preview of the new 'Experience Design for Events' content please jump in here! https://bit.ly/3k5Cizk

02.01.2022 We often see the positive influence of our sports events and programs in having a meaningful impact, but perhaps not enough recognition of the good news stories. And while there is a lot of talk about creating 'engaging and inclusive experiences', there is not so much actionable advice on how to create or re-create these influential events, across sport and physical activity programs. So I do hope you can take some meaningful and useful information away from the amazing succ...ess of parkrun. #events #sport #parkrun #eventshow #experiencedesign #sportexperiencedesign #participationsport #sportmanagement
