25.01.2022 I had visited the Great Ocean Road before as a tourist but a recent Photography Workshop with ProjectRawCast let me see this great location in a whole new light. It was incredible. One of the locations I really wanted to experience has been dubbed 'Magic Rock'. For me it is a bit different to the usual Twelve Apostles shots we see from this area. Those are fantastic too but there is something special about this stack. The weather we experienced was challenging but made for awesome sea conditions - waves that reached the top of the cliffs, rainbows and hail. As you can see from this image, the rock is really taking a battering and coupled with the awesome light we had, makes for a lovely scene.

21.01.2022 Bath was the 1st place I moved to after moving away from Cornwall and where I met my wife, so it is a special place for me. We have been in the UK visiting friends and family and arranged to spend a few nights in Bath to relax and enjoy this lovely city. On our last night here, before heading off to Hungary then Hong Kong, we took a trip to the ‘Skyline Walk’ which was true to its name. The sunsetting over the city made it a very nice evening to say goodbye to Bath and the UK.

19.01.2022 The hike down to Beauchamp Falls is fantastic. Walking through the Otway Rainforest and ensuring to avoid stepping on . any of the rare black snails that inhabit the area. I say rare but we saw at least 6 on our way down and back! The waterfall itself is amazing. So many compositions that we could have spent hours there. A real landscape photographer's paradise! I have two compositions from this location that I love but the other is a 4x5 format and this one, in landscape is ...my favourite of the two. The tree, with all its greens and browns, is incredible and leads you into the waterfall quite nicely. I had to go barefoot and stand almost knee deep in the water and squelching mud to get this. Combined with the incessant rain that made keeping the lens dry very difficult, I felt like I really earned this shot! I can highly recommend paying this waterfall a visit when down in the Great Ocean Road area. Just be prepared fir a decent hike there and back!

17.01.2022 I've revisited this article since the recent AI Augmented Sky update and to offer customers a $10 discount code on Luminar 4 purchases.

16.01.2022 A weekend away down to the Mornington Peninsula meant I was able to visit this amazing place for the 1st time. Pulpit Rock is a huge rock formation sticking out of the sea down on Cape Schank. It really is incredible! Getting there for sunrise was easier than I expected and totally worth it, such a great place place to photograph.

11.01.2022 Usually when a storm passes over Melbourne, I am either at work or asleep. The 30th January storm however was at the perfect time to combine the end of sunset with the chance of a few lightning bolts. I actually prefer the shot with no bolts, just as the storm was forming. I'm pretty happy with the forked lightning on the other one too. I stayed on the roof as long as I dared!

10.01.2022 A beautiful night down by the Yarra River brought with it pink, cotton candy skies and a stunning reflection of the Melbourne Skyline.

07.01.2022 The 4am alarm was very unwelcome but I had been hoping to head down to the Shelley Beach Pier for a long time, which meant an early start to drive there in time for sunrise. I arrived with plenty of time to setup and get the shot I had been planning. It was very windy which made long exposures a little difficult. I did manage to get an adequately sharp 20 second exposure but my favourite was this one, taken just as the sky started lighting up nicely. Definitely worth the 4am wake up in the end!

04.01.2022 I've been to Kuala Lumpur a few times over the past year but not had too many chances to watch the sun set behind the Petronas Towers. There had been haze across the city for several days prior to this, due to peat fires in Indonesia. I decided to take a trip to a popular vantage anyway, hoping that the sky would be clear enough for a decent shot. Luckily the haze had cleared and I was treated to a glorious evening of photography in this beautiful city.

01.01.2022 After a few weeks of using Luminar 4 I wanted to share my thoughts on the new sky replacement tool. #luminar4 https://andrewrobinsphotography.com//Luminar-4-sky-replace
